Obama has lied from day number one. Remember the 3 trillion in stimulus that had to be signed or we would see heaven forbid 8% unemployment? A lie. Unemployment is 9.7% and rapidly rising. Bush didn't do that. The war in Iraq? Bush stated clearly that he was doing it to prevent any more terrorist attacks on American soil. It worked. Obama promised to bring the troops home from the Middle East. Another lie, he is pulling them from Iraq and placing them in Afghanistan. Obama promised that all bills would be on the White House website for public review before anything was passed. Another lie. Say what you want about Bush but during those 8 years the country was safe, everyone made money and like what he had to say or not, you could believe what came out of his mouth. Who in their right mind could ever think that a 1 term senator with 1 1/2 years of political experience could ever run a country? He has never run a town, city, state or company for that matter. How about his affiliations? His reverend or his position with the now every so obviously corrupt Acorn? Why does everyone keep calling him black? He is half white and calling him black is labeling him by the color of his skin. Isn't labeling someone by their skin color by definition racism? Honestly let's get someone in there who knows what they are doing and has the experience and common sense to back up their plans. One last thing, Bush was called a liar publicly and to his face many times and apologies never crossed anyones mind. Some speaks their mind (and tells the truth) by calling this idiot president liar and the whole world comes to an end. How come Nancy Pelosi didn't apologize for calling Tea Party protestors Nazis? Keep the faith people, only 18 months until mid term elections!

I'd love to respond to all of that but I don't feel like writing a lot...

    Other than....

My girl Speaker Pelosi didn't call anyone a Nazi. She simply pointed out that people were carrying Nazi symbols against Obama and democrats on healthcare, which wasn't just by Republicans. And you can think whatever you want, but Nancy Pelosi doesn't misspeak and doesn't owe apologies to anybody, not the protesters, not the CIA.

Mr. Bush, or Cheney, or whoever was running the country, however, need to apologize for ramming fear down people's throats during the 2004 elections.

Read my lips (EDIT: READ MY TYPE): "democrats will not be stripped of power next year."

    1. To my knowledge, there was never another attack that was thwarted by the Bush administration.

    2. "Mission Accomplished" wasn't a lie? Please!

    3. Bush was never called a liar on the floors of Congress.

It really doesn't matter to me if you are a Dem., Rep., or whatever. The simple fact of the matter is that an overwhelming majority of the people chose Obama as the President of the United States. We decided that of everyone on both sides, Obama was the one. Like it or not, Bush ran this country into the ground and drained us of all of our surplus. Yes, Obama has added to that deficit, But I didn't hear your side complaining when Bush was draining us dry. Unfortunately, it takes money to make money.

The Bush legacy is set. The Obama legacy has barely begun. I at least had the common courtesy to give Bush a full year before I decided he was wrong for the country, and he didn't even "win" by the large margin that Obama did.

Well said, Dyersburg. Now let the Republican troll [OP] retreat back to his cave to get brainwashed by more lies/distortions from Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilley, and Glen Beck.

For the OP: If and when you get in touch with reality, learn some real facts and can contribute something, rather than spouting the usual right-wing propaganda and lies, come back to this board. Until then, don't waste our time.

    Making up stuff?

Obama promised to bring the troops home from the Middle East. Another lie, he is pulling them from Iraq and placing them in Afghanistan.

During the campaign he said that he would be beefing up the U.S. presence in Afghanistan.

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/20/obama.afghanistan/

Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday that United States needs to focus on Afghanistan in its battle against terrorism.

The Afghan government needs to do more. But we have to understand that the situation is precarious and urgent here in Afghanistan. And I believe this has to be our central focus, the central front, on our battle against terrorism," Obama said Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation."

"I think one of the biggest mistakes we've made strategically after 9/11 was to fail to finish the job here, focus our attention here. We got distracted by Iraq," he said.

"For at least a year now, I have called for two additional brigades, perhaps three," he told CBS. "I think it's very important that we unify command more effectively to coordinate our military activities. But military alone is not going to be enough."

Bush lied about the Iraq War. If you believed what came out of his mouth, you're an idiot.

And it was Republican policies that cause the banking meltdown last fall, which froze the credit market, which caused business to lay off workers and brought the unemployment rate to 9.7%

Stop watching Fox News. You're being lied to. And you're delusional if you think the Republicans are going to retake any House in Congress. They are still eating their own.

Let me get this straight: you're blaming the economic shit storm on Obama? Who wasn't in office until January?

Well, there's nothing I can say that will convert you, when you claim that "Obama has lied from day number one." And you do not give Bush enough blame for creating the circumstance we find ourselves in. Most economists are now saying that we have, at least for now, averted a financial meltdown. We're not out of the woods though.

Has enough been done? Probably not. When is job creation going to kick in? Not soon enough -- we're in this hole for a while Has Obama delivered on everything he promised? Of course not, he hasn't even been in office nine months yet. Bush took eight years to run this country into the ground. The American people had the opportunity to change course four years ago when it was obvious he was not making smart decisions, but they did not. So, it's going to take Obama some time in undoing what Bush fucked up.

But am I happy with every decision he's made. No. Am I disappointed. Yes, but per above, it's still early. He's changed course on a couple of things that have helped restore some faith. But, then again, I never saw him as the second coming of Christ that some made him out to be. I knew he wasn't perfect, but I still feel I elected the best candidate from the field.

As for mid-term elections, okay they're eighteen months away. So what? They're not tomorrow, next week, or next month. A LOT can happen in that time. A LOT. Both good for Obama and bad. Check in with me again in a year from now and I think we'll have a better idea about what's going to happen.

Yes, and that is only because 'God' spoke through him... He (Bush) was nothing but a vessel.

'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'

Also, just really bad geography there. Afghanistan is not in the "Middle East," it's in South-Central Asia. So even if Obama had said something to the effect of the above, it would be true.

    Hooray geography!

Saying the war in Iraq prevented another terrorist attack is like saying the rock in my hand is keeping tigers from attacking me. I don't see any tigers... it must be true!

I had to look over every comment before I realized no one else caught the mistake made by the OP - and I don't mean his rantings and ravings either.

The title of the thread says that there is only 18 months until mid term elections. That would put the midterm elections in 2011 - which is simply not true. Midterm elections are in 2010, which is quite a bit less than 18 months away.

    LOSER!!! LMAO
