Strange situation

Ok. I had a really comfy pair of boxer briefs from the Gap last year. I realized I hadn't worn them in a while and then I realized my roommate took them when I saw them in his hamper.

I'm still roommates with him this year. I'm not creeped out by him at all, I just can't help but puzzle over why he would steal my underwear?!

    Thoughts??

He probably thought they were his. meehhh, I wore my dads underwear before by mistake because I thought they were mine until he pointed it out to me.

It was probably just an honest mistake..clothes have a habit of getting mixed up...don't let it bother you. There's a chance you might even have something of his and not realize at all...it happens.

Probably just a mistake, but I would chat with him about it. Maybe you can say "hey, how does my underwear fit you?" or "you look good in my underwear" and go from there.

The real question is, what were you doing going through his hamper!

Maybe he had a similar pair and just thought they were his. How are you not sure they are his an you are mistaken? maybe you misplaced your pair? were yours so easily identifiable?

I would agree with most of what was said above. If you find the situation really "strange", you might observe and see what kind of underwear he wears.
If its something very different and you start thinking he knew they were yours.. there could still be a decent explanation... maybe he just wanted to see what they were like.

So my question.. did you grab them back out of the hamper? LOL

If he had stolen them from you in some creepy single-white-female kinda scenario, he wouldn't leave them in a place you could find. I would assume a mix up and leave it at that.

The clothing mix-up might have been just that - no harm intended. I had a frat brother in college who ended up with my belts, shirts, shorts and stuff sometimes. I got some of his stuff mixed in with mine too.

Tell your roommate to buy his own stinking underwear!!! Jeeze. Maybe you need underwear tags. A guy should know where his dick has been.

"Tell your roommate to buy his own stinking underwear!!!"

Now, chucky! Nobody said anything about his underwear stinking. Though, if it did he could just sniff it out to see if it's his.

So the guy wore your underwear. Big deal. It doesn't sound like he stole them. After he wore them, should he have put them in your hamper? Seems like he wanted to wash them before he returned them.

Just tell him not to wear your stuff if it really bothers you.

It doesn't make him a horrible creature, a pathological liar or a self obsessed selfish prick...........although I'm sure somebody will write some kind of mental evaluation of his worth as a person.

Yeah, agree with other comments, that they simply got mixed up. Or he found them somewhere you'd left them in the closet or under the bed, and put them in the hamper for the next wash. My partner & I are always getting our polo & T-shirts mixed up, though our underwear is totally different. Your roommate might actually think they're his, this is a common thing. I mean, why would he deliberately steal your underwear, something you presumably might see him wearing right in front of you?

He's either a thief -- a very common thing these days even in government -- or he has the hots for you. Lol.

I've already had friends end up with my underwear when they've been staying over at my place for a long period of time.

I don't know if you can draw any conclusions from one pair of boxers. Agree with the comments above, maybe he confused them with one of his. Of course, it's strange he'd grab one of yours unless you do laundry together. Maybe he hadn't done laundry yet and needed to borrow a pair of yours.

Now, if you find more than one of yours in his possession, then you need to talk to him about it.

Those racing stripes could be used to ID the underwear in question.

Having lived with guys in college and guys who I've lived with for other reasons icon_wink.gif

I'd chalk it up a wardrobe mixup
But if you come home unexpectedly one day and find him naked on your bed with you briefs on his head gas mask style

    I'd change that hypothesis icon_eek.gif

that is pretty funny. As you said, it just happens.icon_redface.gif
