I'm moving to London, the Chelsea area to be precise, so I've got to start the long arduous task of looking for a new gym.

Then it struck me! One of the kind and knowledgable folks on RJ, might just have a few tips and stuff that they could share!

    So........any recommendations?

There are several gyms in the area.
The only one I´ve been going to is Holmes Place on Fulham Road. It´s not "gay" as such, well kept and kind of up-market. Not cheap.

    Thanks.

I don't really care about the "gayness" of the place. I just don't want it to be all family friendly with crying kids and 10 000 women on 20 000 eliptical machines, going to one of the 30 000 light aerobic classes wearing skin tight spandex.

Not too much to ask is it?

I'd be glad to come along with you as your personal ski coach... icon_biggrin.gif

I rent a flat in Covent Garden every year. One day soon I'm going to pull the plug and move there.

    See you a Kudos!

Hmmm if you're looking for a gym that will match the area that you live in, check out the Esporta chain - they were great but wayyyyyyy too expensive, and catered way too much to the so called yummy mummies of the middle class.

If you don't want all teh fobs and embellishments, just check out the local recreation/leisure centre. It'll be dingy.

I went to Fitrooms on North End Road whcih is Fulham but very close to Chelsea. It is just a nice neighbourhood gym. Had a lot of boxing when i was there. Weights room needed to be a bit bigger but I really liked it and it was a good price too. I would recommend it.
