Cellitis

I've just gotten out of the hospital where I was for 5 days with a bad case of cellitis on my right elbow. I've been on massive amounts of anti-biotics and pain meds. I'm home now and recovering.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them and how the recovery was. I'm afraid as the last time I had a systemic infection and was on massive anti-biotics, it affected my energy levels so much that I couldn't work out and gained all the weight 8 years ago. Given all the work I've done to get in shape, I'm scared that this might happen again.

Thanks for any info anyone might have.

BTW: they did let me out of the hospital to make it to my mother's funeral, but I don't remember much of it.

Do you mean cellulitis? I've never heard of cellitis.

You know, I'd not ever heard of this until a few weeks ago when someone I know had it on the right side of their face. I've not been on strong antibiotics like this so I'd check with your doctor. I would think though that getting your digestive system back up with the good bacteria would be a good start. I believe acidophilus is often recommended to help kickstart that. I would think also that plenty of water and good nights' sleep couldn't hurt.

Seeing a friend go through this first hand, I really do feel for you. That stuff is nasty!
