Since we had a tedious thread about how identical we all are- I wondered if anyone else had been counting down the days til today for the launch of the new Muse album - The Resistance?

    No I thought not.

So post instead what makes you unique. We need a resistance to throw off the shackles of conformity. There's never been a better time to be who we are: to be our own star in the constellation.

Well, I just listened to 'Supermassive Black Hole' on YouTube.

Our tastes are quite different and....waitaminnit...omg We're NOT THE SAME!

We've become friends with a husband and wife team - restauranteurs- and she's been having discussions with me about energy fields in the alternative healing techniques she's been learning in South America. This is interesting as I am editor for a Reiki publication.

Seeing as how we're all the same, all of you have studied reiki, so I guess no need to explain, eh? icon_lol.gif

I dont really know what makes me unique on a grand scheme... but in my little corner of the world everyone thinks its crazy that I go to metal shows all the time because gay guys only listen to diva techno and dance music ( so they think )

    I love mosh pits....

Also the fact the I have an extra gland located directly below my hypothalamus that secretes a mild hallucinogen when I get bored.

There actually are people that are addicted to me.... icon_smile.gif

Since you're the first to ask, you can be the Dauphin.

I thought gays could only be Queens. Isn't "King" reserved for our lesbian counterparts?

Yes, I have. Well, sorta. I love to hate Muse. They're really entertaining to listen to but at the same time make me want to gag with all of their ridiculous pomp, terrible lyrics, and unabashed plundering of rock history. So, naturally, I bought the new album the morning it came out. Makes total sense, right? ;)

I am unique through the combined effects of mutation, recombination, selection, and genetic drift. Not being a monozygotic twin makes that pretty much guaranteed.

I'm also betting few of you have spent the morning combing through population genetic formulae to feed parameters into a model for your research project. That's more an experiential singularity than an intrinsic one, though.

There's that. And from your pic, it seems you've found a use for Olivia Newton-John's leftover leg warmers from 1981. That's got to count for something. icon_lol.gif

Those knit arm warmers are LEGIT. I would have stolen them but that's bad karma. Olivia-Newton John wishes!

Seconded (which seems odd in a thread about uniqueness), and will add that we are also our unique combinations of social factors and interests.

As for myself, today I've spent another day in my quasi-quarantine from school, finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, read writing on poverty, watched several cartoons, and listened to Cher (Believe) and Full Metal Alchemist OST.

That best portion of a good man's life,
His little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.
