Ben Hur is taking to the stage, having it's premier at the O2 tomorrow, it involves more than 1,000 costumes, 70 acrobats and dancers, 32 horses, 100 doves, three falcons, two eagles, two vultures and two donkeys.

It lasts 2 hours and the actors speak in Latin and Aramaic, though there will be narration in English.

What do you think, would you go an see it? The shows creator expects the show to be around for the next 50 years.

50 years? How would they know? That must be one expensive contract.

In the first film version, the actor who played Ben-Hur was a closeted gay man named Ramon Novarro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramon_Novarro). Not that it's significant to this play, but just an interesting fact!

Doing it live, I'd bet the Chariot Race would be a riot! Or a disaster!!!

So, there'll be sauce for more than just the dinner-portion of the show?

I just can't see how this show will work, the fact there are "100 doves, three falcons, two eagles" I don't think it looks good for the doves do you??
Tickets go as high as £135.... though the dvd is only £8.98 on amazon.co.uk
