what are some good things to snack on through the day on a "lean mass gaining" regimen?

right now i usually snack on sunflower seeds, they seem like a pretty good in between meal snack
18g fat
no cholesterol
90mg sodium
4g carbs
2g sugar
2g fiber
7g protein

to me it just looks good so correct me if im wrong

and any suggestions on good snacks to eat through the day are greatly appreciated!:

Almonds are a better choice.

1 oz has:
15 g of fat, 1g Saturated, 4g Polyuns, 10g Monouns
6g Protein
3g Fiber
1g Sugar


Walnuts are also an excellent choice. They have omega 3 fatty acids in addition to good overall fat content, protein and fiber.


If you are going to rely on nuts, eat the raw variety as the roasting process breaks down the nutritious oils.

Yes....almonds are a better choice. Also:

blueberries
unbuttered popcorn
raw, peeled, lightly salted carrots, cucumbers, zuchini, celery etc.
no fat yoghurt
no fat cottage cheese


and I've been known to snack on uncooked whole wheat pasta...lol

I'd say if you're 140 lbs and looking to gain weight, replace those nuts with a big turkey sandwich and milk.

Uh huh... snack should be synonym for small meal.
