I used to go to the gym 4 - 5 days per week when I lived in London. I kept this routine for about 5 years or so. While not heavily muscled, I was more athletic and defined. Several months ago I was transferred to New Orleans and at the moment, I have no access to a gym while I get settled back in the USA.

I have lost some muscle and definition and have gained some body fat in the absence of that former routine.

I am investigating some books/ebooks/workout plans on workouts I can do at home with either just light dumbbells or no weights at all. This is just until I am able to get back into a gym again.

I would like to hear some recommendations for good sources of body weight workout plans, books, websites etc.

    Thanks in advance...

Andy Core, a fitness consultant and guru, has a great book (and e-book version) of a book called Master Your Body. It's filled with exercises designed to build strength without having access to a gym or gym equipment. I highly recommend it!

There are some great workout routines here in Real Jock that are a lot of body weight or small dumbbell workouts. There're free!

Thanks to all for the suggestions icon_biggrin.gif . I will go through the workout plans and forum a bit more closely to try and put together a good routine for the meantime until I can join a gym again.

Ok, following up with this post:

In 2 weeks I will be returning to the gym finally after an absence of about 8 months since I moved back from the UK (see my profile). I would like to start an exercise routine at home that will get me back in a decent enough shape so I won't absolutely kill myself on the first day back...

I have looked through the workout plans here but cannot really find anything there that does not include the use of weights.

I don't really want to go out and buy a set of dumbbells for only two weeks of use.

Can anyone recommend a good bodyweight exercise routine to get me going just until I return to the gym properly?

Great one thanks! I was looking solely in the "Workout Plans" section, which really only has one plan as far as I could see in the short time I spent there.

That section is a bit confusing and probably could stand to be organized better anyhow. It should probably have the same left side navigation that the "Topics" section has to make it easier to find the articles.

Anyways, thanks again for the direction! icon_biggrin.gif

I can't navigate in "workout plans" either
Those I found with search keywords hotel workout having remembered seeing it presented that way in a thread once.
