I just saw this programme and god, isn't there a lot of food? I don't feel like eating any more! lol

Are portions size that huge in America?

I know right, I'm American but I've lived abroad my whole life and I'm in LA on Holiday and I think I'm either going to starve or get Fat again it's ridiculous how not healthy people eat here icon_eek.gif

Food portions tend to be bigger here, but that program shows extreme portions -not typically found

I often find my self being force fed by friends at restaurants or at their homes, like they are gonna consume my " foi gras " later icon_rolleyes.gif

I LOVE FOOD and that's one of my favorite shows, it helps give me food ideas for when I cook.

The host is kind of a douche though...icon_rolleyes.gif

As a foreigner who spends a fair bit of time in the US - yes, your portion sizes are *huge*

And for like an extra 25 cents you can upsize to a portion that could feed a family for a week

Foods of 'right portions' usually appeal to me. But when I see excess, not mere excess but enormous excess, I kinda lose my appetite.

Even worse, when I see them thrown away at the close of the business because of restaurant policies; I think of the famine victims.....

jprichva saidI don't eat out often, but here in Florida they customarily serve you enough for at least two meals. I always take at least half of my food home. It's crazy.

Mmm....I need to head to Florida. icon_razz.gif

Like some people said here, it's not bad to get huge portions for the money you pay, 'cause you can make it two meals. I almost always take home half my food from a restaurant.

    Exactly.

You resurrected a 5 year dead thread to say "Exactly." icon_neutral.gif

Some people feel compelled to get their 2 cents in.
