Crazy Republicans in the House of Representatives

I'm working on a new video and I need crazy things said by Republicans in the House of Representatives, preferably within the past couple years.

Lies, factual errors, and generally strange beliefs are all welcome. I've got everything I need from Bachmann, Gohmert, Broun, Franks, Foxx, birthers, and deathers, so anything else would be extra appreciated. Members of the House, only, though (not senators or governors or pundits).

I know I'm setting the stage for a flame war here, but I won't engage in any arguments. Just looking materials.

I know no one will add to mine so I will use the internet to get tons, think I should start with President Carter forward just to be fair.
President Carter by definition is not in the House of Representatives, nor was he ever in it.

Sorry if it was not plain enough for you. I am starting when Carter was in the white house and moving forward. I can understand where you might be confused by that.

It was too plain for me.

You see I was simply going by what the OP said i.e. the House of Rep
You see I was simply going by what you said " you will get to work on the democratic version..."

Any reasonable intelligent person would have correlated your statement to mean the House of Rep to mirror the OP's intent.

But I guess we are not talking reasonably intelligent folk when it comes to you are we?

See I knew I was going to regret asking the question icon_rolleyes.gificon_evil.gif

    Background:

Back in July HR3288, a Transportation and HUD appropriations bill, came up for a vote. It included $150 million for emergency maintenance funding for the DC Metro.

    Brady voted against it.

    ===

Protesters who attended Saturday's Tea Party rally in Washington found a new reason to be upset: Apparently they are unhappy with the level of service provided by the subway system.

Rep. Kevin Brady (Texas) asked for an explanation of why the government-run subway system didn't, in his view, adequately prepare for this past weekend's rally to protest government spending and government services.

    Seriously.

The Texas Republican on Wednesday released a letter he sent to Washington's Metro system complaining that the taxpayer-funded subway system was unable to properly transport protesters to the rally to protest government spending and expansion.

Yeap should have kept your mouth shut, then you would not wind up looking like an ass back paddling because you relize what I said made sense. I am starting with the House during Carters term.

LOL - you are a funny dude, you are. Yes you are ...

And no, do not send me any private emails. I really don't mean the above as a compliment

Trust me, no one has the "looking like an ass" thing locked up as well as you do.

You and your three or six alter egos, or however many there are this week.

Nice of you to ooze back on here after RJ kicked you off. You're kind of like a staph infection that way.

Here are some quotes that I remember over the last few years.

Its hard to believe that I was once a republican, but thanks to President Bush, VP Cheney and Former Majority Leader DeLay I snapped out of it. The straw that broke the camels back was when in 2004 months after declaring war in Iraq President Bush spent ten minutes focusing on steroids in baseball as a national priority in his State of the Union.

I am sure if you look around you will be able to find the videos but here are the quotes. BTW this is both from the house and the Senate.

Representative Rep. Richard H. Baker, (in reference to hurricane Katrina) said: "We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. We couldn't do it, but God did." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/09/AR2005090901930.html

"Capital punishment is our society's recognition of the sanctity of human life." Republican U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch

A few years ago former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay:"I have seen these liberal psychologists and sociologists talk about there is no need for the man in the family. 'The woman can take care of it. A woman can take care of the family.' It takes a man to provide structure. To provide stability. " – House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX), in an interview, on the role of women in the home. (Christine DeLay "quickly realized that her hubby was treading on dangerous territory," admonishing, "Let's edit this out," she said. "This is not a good thing for you to be saying.")

Tom Delay's words on why he missed Vietnam: "So many minority youths had volunteered for the well-paying military positions to escape poverty and the ghetto that there was literally no room for patriotic folks like me in Vietnam."

southbeach1500 saidThis is such a good project. Should be easy, since EVERY Republican in the House lies, twists the truth, is mentally deficient and a religious nut.

I'm a social democrat and I disagree. That's true of only about three-quarters of them.

As for the Democrats, if you take out the "religious nut" part, the rest is probably true of about half of them. If you take out the "mentally deficient" part as well, then the remainder is probably true of about 95 percent.

I think the same thing could be said for the Republicans. Take out "religious nut" and "mentally deficient" parts, and it's probably true that about 95 percent lie and twist the truth.

How else is it possible to get elected in this country since hardly anyone wants to hear truths?

Is there such a thing as an HONEST politician of any political party? I don't limit my disdain and skepticism to Republicans or Democrats, or Independents,,,,I am truly an equal opportunity skeptic. It is called Thinking and Reasoning and not enough of it is happening to take care of more than a short term "band-aid" approach to the nations many issues.
We need more of what I will term "Statesmen"....those that are altruistic enough to make the hard vote based on what is really in the best interest of the nation, instead of what we have, which are "politicians" who are self serving, mouth-pieces of special interest groups and financial sources at election time.
Honesty and integrity are not owned by any political or philosophical group and are in most cases not being employed in the business of the people of the USA. How sad that we as a nation started with such high ideals and have since degenerated into what we have now......corruption of our institutions and bankruptcy of the system. Over the years too many players have "stirred the pot" to be able to blame any one person or political party. The blame lies with the people that kept placing the same individuals back in power to continue the corruption and the bankruptcy.....or those that chose to never participate. The people of this nation have always had the power to run the government and need to do so again in 2010 with a clean sweep. The message of 2008 apparently wasn't loud enough. It is not logical, nor reasonable, to believe that "more of the same, will somehow give us a different outcome, than it has in the past". Clean house and get some new ideas and perspectives! Just because you pay taxes doesn't give you the right to bitch if you aren't participating in the system. Get active, VOTE, get informed and VOTE, support a candidate or an issue and VOTE, or BECOME a candidate with ideas and beliefs and honesty and integrity, just participate! icon_cool.gif

I think you might want to try extending your request for ' materials ' to all politicians ... they, in general, tend to be people whose logic has gone awry.
