So it's my very first post on here, and let's see how many responses this post gets. So a major topic of discussion amongst my crew is who represents better: (East Coast or West Coast)! Personally, nothing competes with the East Coast lifestyle. I think we got the best cities: NYC, Philly, Miami, Boston! And the boys--come on now! A sexy ass New Yorker or Miami trick has it going on like no one else. So let's here your opinions!

I agree. And "sexy ass trick," too. icon_confused.gif

But that being said, I'm an East Coaster at heart.

I've lived for years on both Coasts. Also the Gulf, for what it matters. Not to mention a lot of time right in the middle.

To quote Popeye: "I yam what I am."

The coast doesn't matter to me. The person does. I know there are regional differences all over the US. I judge each person as I meet them. I think that's fair.

You're my new best friend....that is EXACTLY what I was going to post.

For me....we have way better music on West Coast, healthier lifestyle, more open space, the best music and art festival in the world and WAY better weather (I don't like cold or humidity).

East Coast has....amazing food....and yes, overall I am a sucker for dark and handsome that one finds in New York area.....but there are too many positives for the West Coast that I would ever really want to leave the West of the US, unless something really amazing happened.

New Englander here at heart, so I am partial to the east coast.

Though, I enjoyed the west coast too.

And, as mentioned above, you cant forget the rest of the country. icon_smile.gif lol

Men are cute/handsome where ever you go. I thoroughly enjoyed Denver. All the hotties on the slopes in the winter. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

There's hot men all over...all over the world, in fact. I hope Jay-Z wasn't supposed to be representing the East Coast. Cause, he's not cute at all.

OP, I know you got some flack from some of the people here icon_rolleyes.gif but shake that shit and keep doing you. In that regard, NYC is ahead of everybody.

West coast all the way. If I didn't have family east of the Rockies, I doubt I'd ever head back that way. Sure, NYC is a great city, no argument, but west coast lifestyle is way more relaxed, open, warm, and diverse.

I'm always a bit put off by all of the posing that goes on back east when I visit my family, the who's who, etc. And the east coast gay world is far more cliquey than anything I've experienced out west (lived in LA for 8 years). When I was first coming out, I found the bars and guys back east (lived in DC and visited NYC often) quite "intimidating." LA really surprised me in how open and friendly and accepting I found the community from day one.

Love the west coast. Would never go back. icon_biggrin.gif

The west coast only consists of three states. Hardly enough flavors.

It's not even a contest guys.

But I'm sure chatting with some hot boys out there on this site. I'll give you that!

... even if they were, we do not all speak that way.

I'm from Florida and I thoroughly am enjoying being educated in new england.
I'd like to visit the west coast, but I doubt I could live there. I'd more than likely take a chance on the midwest and ... um ... hawaii.

You get props for putting Jay-Z on the thread. It is nice to see that there are hip-hop heads on Real Jock.

But East Coast, hands down. I love the East Coast. From Miami to Atlanta to D.C. to New York. The best rap and hip-hop of all time has come out of the East Coast. Forget what ya heard, son. icon_biggrin.gif

anyway, i've always found it interesting (and overlooked) that the contrast between east coast and west coast culture is at the heart of the american identity. this rivalry/symbiosis/conflict/competition between east and west, played out before and mediated by the inscrutable midwest, is american culture in a nutshell. always changing, moving, overtaking it's a unique flow if ideas and attitudes that never stops interacting. there is no winner or loser. (but the east coast invented rap and hip hop and break dancing and west coast rappers can never change that. for reals yo.) icon_twisted.gif
