Gordon Brown suffered a humiliating reprimand from President Obama on Thursday over the decision to release the Lockerbie bomber.

The US president made it clear his anger at freeing of the Libyan terrorist. It was the first conversation between the two leaders for more than six weeks fulling fears of a growing rift between the White House and Downing Street and the demise of the so called "special relationship" between Britain and the US.

Now for one thing this was a decision made my the Scottish Government, and just as the British Government has no right to dictate to them, the President of the US of A has no right to dictate to the British PM, just because some US citizens were on that plan. This does not give the president of the US to over ride another country's sovereignty.

Albeit I myself do not condone this decision, this man should of been left to rot in jail, for his crime.

But the Scottish Government won't too be seen as a compassionate country, and released this terrorist because he only had a short time to live.

But non the less, just because an American is involved in something does not give the president of the US a mandate to dictate to another country.
