HIV vaccine cuts infection

    Woke up this morning to read this on bbc news.

    My theory is that the Pharmaceutical companies will not want a vaccine to be developed. They make way too much money of the meds....icon_eek.gif

    They'll probably just make it so expensive no one can afford it.

    This is why we haven't had one yet. They're "discovering" it now only because HIV meds don't make as much money anymore...

    I wonder: Is there some sort of consortium that can advocate for LGBT-related medical advancement while perhaps also lobbying Congress? I'm thinking that this is NOT the HRC, but I may be wrong. I'd be willing to contribute to such an organization. I know the Bill/Melinda foundation does a lot of AIDS-related work, but what about something like an advocacy arm of the GLMA (Gay and Lesbian Medical Assoc.)?
