I've been a runner and athlete for years, swimming and track through school then competing in the Ironman triathlons on a professional level and this thing blew my mind. I have had Nike free shoes for the past i dunno 8 years or however long its been since they came out and i just got the ones with the + in them. This thing is amazing it talks to me, tells me calories burned, pace, time, distance. there is even options for training and they schedule races online to compete with others.

if anyone else is using this lemme know your id name i'll race you sometime.

I wear New Balance.... and I use Nike+. It really is nice to have someone tell you "400 meters to go".

Yeah, no need to buy Nike+ shoes. Just buy the shoe pouch and attach it to your current shoes.

Yea I use it all the time. I'm actually having a Duel with a guy on RealJock to see who can go the furthest in 30 Days VIA the online upload feature. It's all in good fun. It is a really cool feature to have in the sneakers. Though it is kinda stupid that when the sensor dies you have to buy a new one instead of just a battery.

You can replace the battery yourself. Only hard part is opening it up.

I have the Nike+ Sportband and I love it! It is great that I can check my pace, distance, etc. during my run. Only $59 and comes with the shoe sensor.

I've got it and its great...definitely helps me keep my pace and my distance when I am not following a course. Anybody thinking of starting a realjock group/competition??? I am in 2 or 3 others and its actually fun!

If you have an iPhone, try RunKeeper. No shoe attachment and it's just under $10.

Nike uses a last that's too narrow for my foot, plus I pronate wrong in them, and develop knee pain. I wear NewBalance instead, which is wider, and doesn't give me joint pain. I buy according to results, not label.

i tend to stick to Asics 2140 or Sauconys omni ( they're at no8 now )
( slight over pronator here ).

and when i run i use my Garmin Forerunner 305.
This gadget is about the coolest little gizmo i ever owned.
It's got different configs for running, biking and XC skiing .
And the signal is strong enough for covered areas like forests which is great as i'm mountain biking 90% of the time.

But if a pro triathlete says nike + is good, i sit and listen.
