I read through it and thought sure, I know this, but do those same people voting against gay rights? are they willing to learn about people like me in order to make more informed decisions? they don't need to know about my sexual role preference, but maybe info. on what it's like to be gay ... therefore, I thought it was compelling enough to share.

    thanks, activeandfit.

My thoughts are that the article says nothing about men who are "d.) None of the above" in regards to sexual activity and I think that's a disservice. icon_confused.gif

EDIT: Also, I don't think I could dislike who ever managed to super glue "anal sex" to "gay/same-sex attracted male" more if I tried. Seeing stuff like this makes me extremely exasperated.

Without liking anal you are not even really gay.

Some studies done back in the 90's found that information(about homosexuals) did not decrease homophobia. Likewise, knowledge of HIV/AIDS did not decrease fear of people with HIV/AIDS.
These studies did find that knowing someone who is gay or knowing someone with HIV decreased homophobia and fear of HIV.
So science, while important and interesting, probably would not help straight people to accept us like coming out of the closet would.

Read the article before commenting, he mentions d.) "the distinction doesn’t even apply, since some gay men lack any interest in anal sex and instead prefer different sexual activities."

The scientists were studying and comparing the behavioral trends of men who practiced penetrative sex, it's not a a disservice to the "none of the above" demographic since they're not part of that research pool in the first place.

anal sex is not exclusive to gays (straight people do it) and liking anal sex is not what defines being gay (definition: attracted to the same sex, nothing more)

I love to read this lesbian comment but it is funny

    mpalmer13 at 05:00 PM on 09/16/09

"This is actually quite fascinating to me as a lesbian. I came out late in life, and I'm totally a top. Yet, I suspect that trait is a result of my discomfort throughout life with my orientation. Despite being openly 'out' now, I still harbor some discomfort with my sexuality. I can understand where this would present health risks to the "str8t" guys and their female partners, because they really wouldn't be exposed to as much preventive advertising. Good article."

Ask and you shall receive. If you didn't want a dissenting opinion you should have said so in your OP.

Acknowledged, TryandBuy. I mostly only skimmed through it but my general feelings about the article are the same.

shame, shame. I want dissenting opinion. I appreciate your comments, else I would not have simply said " your thoughts. "

All it needed was a voice over from David Attenborough saying

...and here we have the "Top" of the homosexual species
who is in search of a bottom
He derives his pleasure from being the "insertive" partner icon_confused.gif

Animal Planet for the str8's of this world

HAHA, that got a real LOL from me.

mostly because i recently wrote on a facebook friends photo of himself:
David Attenborough's voice: "And here we see the great whale beaching itself"... hope shamu reads this.... (p.s. in an unrelated matter, Hi Fable icon_biggrin.gif )

sorry for the hijacking of the thread...

oh look, I'm at the bottom

(p.s. - this will only make sense to the next person who posts, after that, it's nonsense... or versatile)
