A Bronx high-school dean was arrested Tuesday for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old male student, officials said.

Johnathan Huff, who was named "Teacher of the Year" in 2007, according to the NY Post, was charged with forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child and sex abuse while classes were being held Saturday at the Urban Assembly Academy for History and Citizenship for Young Men, authorities said.

The dean allegedly fondled the boys privates over his clothes, according to officials, who said they were first alerted to the molestation via a 911 call on Monday.

The school is part of the the Taft High School campus in Mount Eden.

Huff will not be allowed back at the school while investigations continue, but former students said the charges seemed out of character.

"I can't tell you what a person is capable of doing but I wouldn't picture him being capable of doing that," Iris Mendy, a one-time pupil, told NY1.

"Every morning he'd open the doors, humble, saying hi to everybody, he wasn't that type of guy that would be touching a 14-year-old," said former student Ivan Echavarria, according to NY1..

Well, we read the article - no mention of who reported the abuse or if there were witnesses etc.

This makes the article worthless to us, as up here there have been cases where a teen decided to exact a revenge of the cruelest kind. One was a student and a teacher; another was a girl's friend accusing the girl's father (a police officer). In both cases the accuser later recanted.

The teacher had given the student lousy marks.
The girl's friend was mad at the girl's father for not allowing a party.

By the time these two kids recanted (and couldn't be charged with anything under the Young Offender's Act) the damage had been done, because the media ran wild with it and gross speculation, and these two adults' lives will now never be the same.

This is tacky reporting just to sell news, instead of waiting for facts or doing some true investigative reporting.

I think it's important to reserve comment until the investigation is complete. An allegation is just that, until it's proven to be otherwise. If the Dean is found to be innocent of these charges and the student was indeed seeking revenge or attention, I hope he's punished harshly. If he did commit this crime, he deserves all he's going to get -- ruined career, ruined reputation, high legal fees, jail time, criminal record and a VERY tough life.

The headline of this forum ought to contain the word "allegedly." We are all innocent until proven guilty.

The NY Post is clearly NOT a reputable news source.

worse over... i know people that have been falsely accused of shit like this and then i just found out about a month or so ago that a guy I went to college with that had joined the seminary and had a crush on me actually got busted for sending sexually explicit text to a 16 year old boy. he asked the kid if he had lube and when he went to go see the kid at the boys house the police caught him and found lube in his pocket. sometimes you just dont know what some people are capable of.

sxydrkhair saidthis video is so embarrassing.

Lol...This is hilarious. This is also why I am not for meeting people on-line for anything sexual. I am old-fashioned and like meeting people face to face.

And I will never understand how some people can like 12, 13, 11 year old kids.
