For those astronomy buffs out there (or anybody if your just curious)....

The planet Jupter and the moon are in close proximity tonight (and should be closer tomorrow evening). Jupiter is straight east of the moon at this moment (and tomorrow may be right west of the moon). Jupiter is the 4th brightest object in the sky.... 5th, when Mars is closest to the Earth or at "opposition" and Jupiter, at magnitude -2.0, it is unmistakeable....

Of course from the observer's viewpoint, Jupiter is moving slowly west across the sky and the moon (just beyond 1st quarter, but not yet gibbous)
moves east .... it will be striking tomorrow evening.

No Saturn at the moment and Venus is in the morning sky..... I like the evening stuff better. Happy viewing!

The moon and Jupiter should make Tuesday night sky watching pretty interesting.

Mars is very close to earth now, too. Where is it in the sky?

(Darn, it's cloudy here and forecast is for rain.)

You'll need to get up in the morning early to see them.
