    they are* ...

    - beautiful thing
    - bedrooms and hallways
    - shelter
    - latter days
    - a home at the end of the world
    - the history boys
    - maurice
    - shortbus*
    - the bible tells me so ...
    - get real
    - the sum of us

    * shortbus is extremely sexually graphic but the themes and/or motifs are what make the film a joy.

Agreed, the climax still gets me teary eyed. Otherwise I would say Brokeback Mountain, but that is not a gay movie in the usual sense at all.

I'm Surprised it wasn't mentioned earlier, but "The Trip" is one of my favorite LGBT movies of all time. Its such a powerful story and I think it's just amazing.
    Also the classics like....

~"Adventure of Priscilla Queen of The Desert." because it has a great tolerance message and a young Guy Pearce in his underwear, and a dress.

    Also
~"Nico and Dani" Its a foreign film about to teen boys that get together for a weekend and feel the effects of growing older and having varying interest in girls. Its a great film and the character work is awesome.

~" Bent" a tragic tale of love between two gay men while inside an interment camp during WWII. Its tragic and beautiful and the play is also outstanding.

~"Breakfast with Scot" because its such, again, a tale of tolerance. Two gay men in a long term relationship end up with a flamboyant gay ward and the film focus' on the relationship between the closeted member of the LTR.

I have a huge list of movies that I know well, and love. I have a thing for having movie nights at my house, and I especially love bad movies that were made on a budget of like 10 bucks haha.
    ~Chuck

If one of the main characters, William Uhde, is gay does that count? If so, the most recent one is:

    Séraphine

How many times is the thread or version of it going to pop up? I did a search and came across four versions of this same thread. Latter Days was mentioned and so was Shelter.

    i watched many, tons.
always finding my favorite protagonists are the supporting cast.
Like the sister in Shelter, the wife in An unusual affair,
the geezer in Boy Culture. etc. the mother in Beautiful thing ...
so often the mains ones are just candy eye ( and not even always ) that can't act for the life of them.
    very anticlimactic.

so i can't name any favorites.

    Let's revive this!

My favorites include Prayers for Bobby and Latter Days--but latter is probably due in part to having an LDS background, I'd say. Loved Milk as well.

BUT Angels in America definitely tops the list for me.

Been wanting to see Christopher and His Kind and And the Band Played On ...

Anyone else got favorite LGBT-themed movies?
