Good, I like the IOC's decision. By default, it was Rio turn in 2016.
US hosted the games too many times.
We just had Beijing in Asia and the next game will in London 2012.
This is another reason to go visit Brazil.

Good for them. South America has never had an Olympics before, I think. I'd love to visit Rio sometime.

Amazing picture.

Chicago is a great city - my favorite to visit on business - but congrats to the IOC for not caving in to the OhBummers. Maybe more tax cheats, neo-Marxists, or community organizers would have helped.

This morning a media babe, probably from CNN, was swooning about how Obambi's "rock star" presence seemed to make Chicago a shoe-in.

Now she looks like just another pinhead Obomba pompom girl, as do some on this site.

Wow, how long were you hanging on to those? I am sure that you are waiting for another chance to use one of your corny "witty" Obama jabs.

Let me see here losing the bid of the games. Getting Iran to open up the plants to inspectors....well let me. I think I'll got with latter.

I approve. They usually show up with many athletes competing so good for Brazil. And PBJ....nice picture posting. Also, Timberoo, that's the spirit. I'm sure Peter Allen and Hugh Jackman would agree. Thanks for the clip. Rio 2016!

Can I be the first to request an abundance of hot, shirtless Brazilian men in the opening ceremony please?

Seconded! I think Rio's a much better choice. About time Latin America got the games.

Liberals have trouble staying on topic or avoiding personal attacks on RJ members.

When another Hitler made concessions to a Chamberlain, the latter was cheered. Chamberlain and those who cheered were idiots.

Ahmandinejad scoffed at Obambi’s silly offer to talk unconditionally. He fired missiles to mock Obambi’s announcement to the G20 that (surprise) Iran was misbehaving again.

This inspector deal will probably be a replay of the Saddam Hussein inspector games. Only liberals are too brainless to see Ahmandinejad as the Hitler of the middle east.

If we just get rid of Bush and elect Obambi, silver-tongued speaker of liberal platitudes with no military or executive experience, the world will love us. That is real idiocy.

Just wondering if the Chicago 2016 Olympic committee will reimburse the U.S. taxpayers for the president's 13 hour trip. Lots of people staff that plane and seems that President Obama really did not need to make this trip after all. The trip was for the benefit of Chicago...not me. My tax money should not go toward paying for the trip.

Repost much? See my answer in the OTHER forum where you posted the same mindless garbage. If you really think the Olympics would have only helped Chicago, you have utterly no sense of how the economy works or of the economical magnitude of the Olympic Games.

God, do conservatives TRY to sound this dumb, or is it just natural to them? The world DID gain a new respect for the U.S. thanks to the fact that our president now has a brain, not to mention some sense of diplomacy--rather than believing God gave America the biggest dick in the world just so it could piss on every one else.

Obama is handling the situation with Iran the way a reasonable, intelligent leader would: By engaging the rest of the world, pushing for diplomacy and reasonable discussion with Iran, and most of all trying to minimize hostility. The Bush admin's refusal to engage Iran and N. Korea and its whole "do what we say or we'll bomb your ass" attitude did nothing but agitate already hostile leaders, further endangering the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Thank God nimrods like you aren't in Washington (any more), or else the nuclear holocaust would be just around the corner.

I can give Obama that much... he does have a brain but has no balls. Street smarts vs. Book smarts... being president is a fine balance between these too. Just one thing to think about and remember when it comes to unilateral talks with any one rogue nation... Clinton tried the same thing with North Korea and give them aid what not.... they lied and kept going foward with their nuke program. Maybe this will be different however as history has shown once over with someone that meet that street and brains (certinally balls) to be president aka Clinton... doesnt usually work out as they planned.

Typical, another guy on this site rants about something off topic and then pulls out his "big boy" insults to rile people up. Please... just, stop talking.
Btw, I hope I'm not the only one that noticed... if Chamberlain and those who cheered for him were idiots, by proxy I'm pretty sure that that statement makes it clear that you are in favor of Hitler's ideals. You're awesome *shakes head no*.

I would have loved to see the Olympics come here within 3 hours of me, but alas, SA does deserve it's chance.

I have a great idea for a new Olympic sport.

Topple that stupid Jesus statue. I'll even donate the gold for the medal.

The least fit and one of the most violent cities on earth gets the summer Olympics in 2016. What a terrible disgrace. There were three far superior cities that should have landed the games. But the IOC played both politics and stupidity by giving the least deserving and least fit city the games. Chicago, Madrid, and Tokyo were far more deserving of the 2016 Olympics. Shame on the IOC.

Meh... Chicago really isn't that much of a step up. *thinks of a certain youtube video of a kid being beaten to a pulp while trying to help a friend out when they were walking home from school and now none of the little shits want to speak to the police and bring those fuckers to justice because of the "stop snitchin' " bs* Tokyo... OK I'll hand that to you but like they have space to build all they would have to? Madrid was my choice the entire time for a whole host of reasons but I think its like someone said... they are going to be in London soon here so why wouldn't you think they would want to host them again in europe especially so close to where they were just hosted?

In Rio even the little kids six or seven years old try to rob tourists. I have been told that brutal massacres and beatings are more commonplace in Rio than in almost any other city in the world. This is some of the many experiences that I hear from people who visited Rio De Janiero that it is a violent and filthy city. Chicago is a much better city than Rio and so is Madrid and Tokyo. Madrid would have also been an excellent host city for the Olympics, it was my second favorite after Chicago and a very close second favorite at that.

I think Chicago might have had some bad publicity as well. They just had worldwide footage of a teenager being lynched last week in Chicago, coupled with the 4th of July violence/gang shootings. Even Rio would be hard pressed to have 63 separate shootings on one weekend.

That being said, I just got back from Chicago. It's an awesome city, and I had a blast. I definitely want to visit again in the future.

I think Brazil made that much more of an effort to get the Olympics. A budget of $14 billion versus Chicago's $5 billion, and that coupled with Brazil's much more enthusiastic sales pitch.

I like this quote from President Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva:

"I confess to you if I die right now my life would have been worth it"

Continuing with the whiz metaphor -- when Uncle Sam takes a whiz, it’s usually on a murderous thug dictator. It’s called liberating people. It’s what America does.

When libs take a whiz, it’s usually on something superb, like God, the Bible, the Church, Western Civilization, the United States, the Constitution, Capitalism, freedom, the U.S. military, Israel, the police, traditional marriage, boy scouts, achievers, the dollar, education, etc. Is it any wonder that liberalism is considered a mental disorder?

Regarding the genius in the White House, he said that the Surge wouldn’t work, the Surge didn’t work, and that Bush took his eye off the real target in Afghanistan. Elect the Pretender and he would finally give the order to get Bin Laden. Nine months or more later, the Pretender is putting a smile on Bin Laden’s face by going around the world apologizing for America, appeasing enemies and betraying friends, e.g., Poland, the Czech Republic, and Israel. One of the Pretender’s foreign policy experts advised shooting down Israeli jets dealing with the Iranian nuclear problem. Genius.

Relations with Germany are the worst in decades. Relations with Russia are not far behind. France and China are joining the dump-the-dollar movement. The English socialist fellow traveler of Obama, Gordon Brown, is almost certainly headed for defeat in the next election. He has asked numerous times to meet with the Pretender and gets turned down. Brilliant.

The Pretender announced an arbitrary pullout date from Iraq. Carnage escalated. Under his dithering, the carnage is escalating in Afghanistan. Speaking of your “nuclear holocaust,” each day the Pretender is in office is another day the Hitler of the Middle East is closer to having a nuclear weapon. Geneva was a victory for the madman. The Taliban is closing in on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. Genius.

Bush was no conservative but he wasn’t fooled by North Korea the way the brilliant Monica-under-the-desk Clinton and Albright were, and he wisely turned your delusional lib engaaagement with Iran over to Germany and France. The results? “Nothing buttery.” Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, told the AP that Iran's approach of "back-and-forth talks" is reminiscent of its "same old tricks."

If you think any of this adds up to more respect for the US, I’d say more and more people are aware that there’s a quack in the White House, that America is an unreliable friend, and that the world is becoming a far more dangerous place. Just like the Clinton foreign policies left the Middle East ready to explode, many sense that there is a major terrorist and/or international crisis about to happen. Thomas Sowell says it well:

Internationally, Obama has made every mistake that was made by the Western democracies in the 1930s, mistakes that put Hitler in a position to start World War II — and come dangerously close to winning it.
At the heart of those mistakes was trying to mollify your enemies by throwing your friends to the wolves. The administration has already done that by reneging on this country's commitment to put a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe and its lackadaisical foot-dragging on doing anything serious to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. That means, for all practical purposes, throwing Israel to the wolves as well.

From libs one hardly hears anything critical about America’s real enemies, Islamofascism (the guys who bury gays under walls, or worse, for fun) and the socialist troublemakers in Russia, China, North Korea, and Venezuela. The genius in the White House uses semantics to take the edge off the War on Terror, thrilling idiots like the Nobel Prize Committee. It’s Bush, Cheney, Palin, Republicans, and conservatives who the libs really hate. Is it any wonder that liberalism is considered a mental disorder?

Sounding dumb to libs, who think that the Pretender in the White House is a genius, is unavoidable. They will be the last to know and admit what “dummies” already know -- his presidency is crumbling.

One way libs sound ignorant, ignorant to high heaven, is using the name of God in vain. Imagine how dumb they will look when forced to bend their knee (and they WILL bend their knee) and account for breaking the Third Commandment. Will they wear their brilliant “Nothing Created Everything” t-shirts to the meeting?
