I am kinda stumped as to what I should do for my guys birthday - its coming up and he's in Italy and I'm in Boston.....

Any ideas? What are some thoughtful things to do for birthdays when in a LDR?

I would keep it simple...

Fly all of his closest friends and family out for a small surprise party at his home. Nothing major, it's not the budget, but the thought. Just cocktails, maybe a few of his favorite performers, or a local DJ. It may be a minimalist approach to wishing him a happy birthday, but the look of joy (after shock, maybe fear) on his face when he walks in the door to be mauled by everyone he loves will be priceless! If the home thing can't work (don't have a key, etc), then rent out a section of the Venice canals and have a small pool party.


But really.

To me, nothing beats a piece of art, or writing from a loved one A few pictures of you included in the package, maybe a tuft of hair to smell on those lonely (lonely, in the country with some of the hottest men on the planet? You should hope he is...) Italian nights.

can you send a call-boy to service him since you can't be there to do it yourself?

I'd like to second these.

Just e-mail him or text message him "HAPPY BIRTHDAY - Big surprise when you get home."

send him a voice message for when hr wakes up of you singing happy birthday to him and saying how much you truly love him.

if he has a laptop or computer...do a special strip tease for him on skype.
