While I do believe there is talent on these forums, such a sub-section would be a festering pool of needy comments and terrible, talentless drivel.

Well if you are really interested in writing, then try writing.com. You can easily find people who would be glad to give honest and helpful criticism.

Here's a question -- how do other writers write? I used to write on the computer but found this year that I produce far better quality fiction if I handwrite, so that's what I primarily do now.

What have others found works for them?

I used to write my fiction by hand. I switched over to writing it on the computer, and now I print out a copy, edit it with a pen and adding other dialogue, and then retyping it. It is a useful strategy.

Hey Scotlake, I use the computer, but only when the muse hits. Or a window opens, or a door where I see what's happening and write it down. My imagination can be that way.

    No set schedule.

Hey ALEZANDER, I write stories for kids, some of them teens and I have one on our profile. Take a peek, if you like. I also think a little like CS Lewis, who once remarked that one of the ways to speak to another adult is through the medium of a chidrens' story.

Just like the ever-popular guy-above-you threads.

Uh oh, you went there. And also the "how do I get abs", "how do I build muscle", "I like this straight guy", " I cheated on my bf is that wrong", "Am I a slut", "Am I attractive" and "OMG GUESS THE CLOSETED CLEBRITY" threads.

A good survey of the most trite and predictable threads. My personal bete noire: "OMG I see this hot guy at the gym and how can I tell if he's interested." There have been several dozen of those and the blindingly obvious answer to all of them is "Why not talk to him."

jprichva saidA couple of months ago, I posted Chapter 5 of part 1 of my novel that I'm currently writing. I got exactly one response, which either means those that read it hated it, or more likely no one gave a shit.

I'm currently finishing up part 4, and hope to be done by the spring. I'm thinking it will be 12 parts in all.

If you really want to, I'd like to read it and give some feedback if you desire. I'm a little intrigued... and just interested.
