not only he can do such songs ... artist like him - i.e., artists with enthusiasm - can.

hence: young jeezy, lil' wayne, t. pain, ghostface killah, talib kweli, rakim, krsone, diddy, lil' kim, missy elliot, the roots, the fugees, q-tip, busta rhymes ... and so on.

these are examples of artists with enthusiasm for their work and hunker down in studios in order to release quality music.

Omg we're old. Reading 'this is dope' our minds went in little circles - is he saying this is dopey? Is it a topic about drugs? Clicked and saw a vid screen, and thought, is the singer a dope? On dope? Just dopey?

It now means cool or talented - we think. Do we win? lol

When '90s ghetto slang like "dope" hits Manitoba, you can pretty much expect it to be regular vernacular at the country club before long.

" Oh la, Charles, and those wingtips you're wearing this ahfternoon; spectacularly dope."

....I'll have to try this on Mom.

Manitoba, Winnipeg in particular, is on the cutting edge of pop culture.

I'll never forget when I first saw Tiger Woods shilling for Buick on TV, ending the ad with the tagline..."It's ALLLLL good!"

My tummy turned a bit after hearing that.

The only thing worse was the cartoon Colonel from Kentucky Fried Chicken shouting "Boo Yaaaaa!". Yikes!
