There is no excuse for the cop's behavior. As for Obama, he's too busy commenting on Kanye's behavior. But seriously, he'd be in front of the camera 24-7 if he has to comment on every single issue before him.

I'm really hoping you're joking on this statement.

President Obama has a country to run and simply can't pay attention to every minor corrupt incident.

Hey, I bought a used book with a scratched out code that I needed, but to buy a new code would cost more than to buy a new book. But the store failed to tell me this! INJUSTICE!!! WHERE IS PRESIDENT BARRACK OBAMA???!?!?!?!?

Obama is not god you know, just a moderately better president than Bush. Well, that's even a stretch considering his capabilities are being stalled due to the healthcare issue.

As for the issue of corrupt cop incidents. They happen all the time. Racial incidents. They happen all the time. I'm right there with you with outrage against these type of incidents. They result in lack of education and police departments giving the average (and sometimes sub-average) human more power than they deserve.

I Hope ur NOT SERIOUS...If da president can comment on an award ceremony, he can comment on a police officer beating a child, he called Kanye, a jackass, what is the police officericon_question.gif Racialicon_question.gif I really don't believe it was racially motivated, I could be wrong tho, this is child brutality, bro. Except the police officer is not the parent...hereicon_exclaim.gif I am at a loss for words, and this is the 2nd incident against a minor in the last 4 months, that was caught on tape. Unfortunately, both the boy, and the girl, just happen to be black.

The award ceremony is paid for by sponsors and mtv, the POLICE OFFICERS are paid by our tax dollars, so I am confused as to why the president called Kanye a jackass, and not addressed this monster for a police officer, getting a paycheck for brutalizing minors.icon_rolleyes.gif

Obama didn't make an official commnt about Kanye. Someone asked him, and he gave his personal opinion. If someone asked him about this, I'm sure he would also give his opinion, but it is not necessary for a president to comment on every bad situation in America. It's just not possible for one person to get around to everything.

The President's job is not to micromanage every single state and federal agency. This cop has a boss, and his boss has a boss, and so forth. He will be dealt with according to his department's policies and procedures.

I've obviously already watched the video and gave my comment. Thanks for showing your sweet, caring side. You're not garnering any support for the subject at hand by calling everyone who comments a dumbass or asshole.

What was done was obviously wrong, but there are a lot of issues that a president must address and he won't always be able to get to addressing something that happens at a local level. It's highly likely that he will not find out about almost all of these situations. The local police chief, mayor, or even a congressman would be much more suited to handle this situation.

If my child was in this situation, and I do have a child, I would try to take care of the situation myself, suggest that he be fired, file police reports, file a lawsuit, and get in contact with my senator and representative to demand a plan of action to fix the problem.

That's really sad - the fact that the Mayor of Dalton won't talk about it is really stupid. Whatever the kid did - that was clearly a case of a brutal assault. As opposed to an apprehension. I hate bullies.

Maybe a few local RJers could get together, locate the cop(s) responsible and beat them to a bloody stump.

Firstly, this was horrible abuse of the kid (by what appears to be a black officer, btw).

Secondly, it is not the president´s place to comment on every single abuse that happens in the USA. Delegation is part of good leadership.

Understandable reaction. On the other hand, like violence is going to teach that two ton gorilla anything about the way you should treat other human beings.

    While I don't condone this...
As usual there is only one side to the story and the "victim", while be spoken too and accosted by a police officer, appears to ignore the officer and continue to walk away disinterested and uneffected by authority.

This officer is assigned to the school and a kid is walking through the hallway (the only student in the hallway it appears), shirt untucked with the intentions of what exactly??
But yes, the officer could have easily detained the kid as opposed to shoving him up against a wall and tackling him

But, why not just stop, acknowledge the officer and tuck your shirt in?

Interesting pattern, Masculine31 you have an obsession with police brutality. D'oh of course it happens and will be dealt with, likely to the fullest extent of the law. Yes it should never happen.
Jail time, lawsuits, and public humiliation of the officer, which is happening now.

Where is President Obama when this happens? Running the country, or would you rather he be patrolling the hallways of all the schools in America (though how that would be possible is a mystery), so he can be there when this shyt happens?

I hope you're kidding. The President has more important things to deal with than every incident that occurs in every school. He's out there more than he needs to be as it is. That said, there is no excuse for the way that policeman treated the kid. Admittedly, we probably don't know the whole story (as there are always TWO sides and the video only really shows one) because for all we know the kid was being disrespectful and had a history of acting up. Regardless, the cops were way out of line and should be disciplined or fired for not showing more restraint.

Possibly because this is actually a brain-damaged special needs kid, in a school for that purpose, which the police knew. A kid who doesn't process information well, and may not make appropriate responses, the reason he was attending there, and not in a regular school. Or maybe body slams are part of his therapy. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm not sure I buy that completely. He didn't seem to have any problem "processing information" while doing the news interview. I'm not in any way justifying the police behavior, as it was WAY out of line, but I wouldn't be surprised if the kid played some part in the whole thing going down the way it did.

hahahahah um i mean wow, okay. I hold you responsible to keep track of every little injustice that occurs and make sure that the president HAS TO comment on ALL OF THEM because he commented on some of them and that AUTOMATICALLY means that he has to comment on the rest or else it's unfair. Make sure to tell the president to ignore more pressing matter like....oh, HEALTHCARE and TERRORISM, because a police officer beating a retard just HAS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF instead of the justice system that has been delegated to deal with this situation already...like JUDGES. HAHAHAHHAHAHHA

I'm not going to call you an idiot this time because it's just too obvious.

masculine31 saidso I am confused as to why the president called Kanye a jackass, and not addressed this monster for a police officer, getting a paycheck for brutalizing minors

This was not supposed to go on record. So there's your answer. The president said something in private and it leaked out.

Leave the president alone and let him do his job. Being president does NOT entail commenting on every little injustice that happens. If he did that, then your precious little Democratic president would have NO TIME to actually filfull the REQUIRED duties of a president. You should be so gratefull that he actually goes out of his way to comment on minor or specific issues. Bush never really did that. Moreover, Obama is NOT the RACE police and was NOT elected to be the next Al Sharpton. So he is NOT going to comment every time a white guy discriminates against a black guy. So stop crying whenever he's not advocating for your civil rights because he has more important things to do...like RUN A FUCKING COUNTRY hahahahahahah.
