What exactly is your idea then to prevent the Taliban from taking over the country again? I'm serious, I'd love to know what some of us liberals think is an alternative to war when the enemy is determined to regain power and force women back into their veils and create safe havens for terrorists.

Plus, don't worry there, he hasn't exactly made up his mind on it?

Regardless, I don't believe the committee that awards the peace prize or it's recipients are that naiive.

The troops are absolutely necessay in order to maintain some semblance of order in this world or it would be total anarchy. Nobody likes war but its sometimes necessary in order to bring peace, otherwise anarchy takes over.

Mepark saidIt's "consequences" already happened here in the U S of A.

The terrorists have to put in their place, which is prison or perhaps even death. If we ignore them, they will gain strength, and then we won't even be safe any more in our own beds. The same happens with kids who aren't disciplined. If you ignore their behavior and do nothing about it, they become holy terrors.

southbeach1500 saidObama got the Nobel Peace Prize because the Europeans on the committee that voted for him to win the prize are pleased that he is moving the USA more towards socialism, i.e. more towards the European model.

What's interesting is that at this moment in time, Europe seems to be moving away from socialism.

Well, so be it. That's what you're going to get in the U.S. it's about time. Go live in Europe and find more people that complain about their model more than Americans complain about their own.

Europe is not moving away from quote on quote socialism (do people even know what socialism is nowadays?) by any means: their conservatives are more to the left that our own president. I lived in Europe for 8 years, and it's no Venezuela or Cuba, and neither is it moving away from anything Rush Limbaugh told you it's moving away from.
