Is there a way to reorder the songs in an ipod folder so you can put songs that you have added a different times together so they will play in sequence?

Also is there a way to have shuffle songs only play in one folder? I have lectures on my ipod and shuffle songs keeps pulling up the lectures, even tho they are in folders separate from my workout music.

The only way to organize songs on an iPod is through a "On-The-Go" playlist. Select this playlist and add songs as you wish.

The typical way is to go into iTunes and create a playlist or Smart playlist then add music to it. If you want the songs ordered to play in the order you added them: right click the column titles ("Name", "Time", "Artist", "Album", etc) and add the column, "Date Added". Click the "Date Added" and the arrow to the right will reverse direction (up/down). Make sure the "Shuffle" feature in iTunes is disabled or iTunes will shuffle through the track. These lists, as ordered, will transfer to your iPod. When you get to your iPod, at least with the iPhone/iPod touch OS, you'll be able to select "Shuffle" at the top of the playlist.

What you're doing is selecting the "Shuffle" command for the entire library. Select the check mark next to the lecture. That should help with that, if that's how you want to go about shuffling.

I can't help you any further without knowing which iPod you have. iPod touch/iPhone based OS or the classic iPod OS.

I think your playlists should transfer over with your music ordered as it is in the iTunes playlist. icon_smile.gif Good luck!

    1) Create a playlist. Add the songs in the order you want them to playback.

    2) Update the tags on your lectures, and make sure the genre is set to Podcasts. I believe podcast files are automatically excluded from playing back in shuffle mode.
