What stuff do you LOVE doing? Why and how did you get into it? Are you passionate about something really odd or dorky icon_rolleyes.gif ?

Neuroscience of hearing (Love it so much!) and running.

My degree in music theory lead me into a world of 'How do we actually hear sound?'. Ever since then I've been in love.

I'm passionate about a lot of things...
Sometimes it's gets kind of hard to keep track and keep them all in practice, but I try my best. Heres are few of them:

Art - I started taking art classes at the age of 5 or 6 and I've loved it ever since. I currently go to an art school as well where I got a 15K scholarship for my portfolio and I've gotten numerous awards and recognitions for it. (Unfortunately I'm gonna be transferring)

Architecture - I'm not really sure how I got into it, but I've loved it ever since I was a little kid, teaching myself about it growing up. I am currently majoring in it and hoping to get my Master's in Arch.

Music - I've played a couple of instruments growing up, including the flute, piccalo, sax, and I'm teaching myself how to play the piano, and guitar. I'm dying to learn how to play the violin tho. I love what music can do and how it can make you feel. I've done numerous researchs on it as well, including music and how it affects the mind and how music and architecture are related. "Architecure is frozen music." - Goethe

Sports - I've done a diverse amount of sports growing up and I really don't know who I'd be today if I hadn't been involved in them. They definitely taught me discipline and taught me more about myself and how far I can push myself.

The passions that most define me (and therefore probably bore or mystify the people closest to me) are my writing and exercise/fitness.

I'm passionate about roller derby. I've been doing it for about 3 years now. Cliche as it sounds, it's taken me places I never thought I'd go (or in the case of Sioux City, where I am now, never wanted to go icon_lol.gif )

Well..I am curious about the differences of "passionate" vs "obsessed" when it comes to activities that we are INTENSELY into....

But I guess I am "obsessed" about health, fitness and exercise...obviously because of my extreme weight loss and total reworking of my life priorities. I am" passionate" about my boys...everything about them.... and my sister...making sure she has the correct medical care and is safe and comfortable at home. I am passionate about the weather...and it is an active verb for me.....so much so that my family will call me when they hear on the weather channel that there is severe weather around Columbus...to beg me to not go out storm chasing! LOL! I am passionate about my music...I LOVE MUSIC! I am obsessed with my vehicles being well maintained and spotlessly clean...it drives me nuts to have a light out or a dent or water spots, etc....

My passions are the people in my life - especially Bob.......there's just nobody like him! Other passions include being outside; working out; swimming laps; music - singers - live, big orchestras; history; architecture; landscape; trees; my favorite old cars; my dogs; and just being alive (after coming close to death once).

I don't think I'm passionate about much of anything anymore. Most things have kind of lost all of their draw for me.

Trying to attain goals just out of my reach.

It is stupid and lately just keeps me in a state of angst but I'm a tenacious bugger.icon_confused.gif

Music. I loved to perform whenever I got the chance I would do it!. Had the amazing opportunity to take a lesson with Professor Brian Luce. Learned so much from him, but he told me if I plan on becoming a performer I need to upgrade to a better instrument.(cough cough) where the hell am I suppose to find 5k-10k for a new flute? I quit playing flute shortly after.
When my friends found out that I quit they told me I was stupid for doing it, I was a waste of talent, even one of my private instructors doesn't talk to me anymore, Said " You're making a mistake kevin"

Maybe I'll start to perform again

Cooking and baking! . It's soo much fun! but I hate the fact that food has calories ahahaha.

I've always loved photography, but in the last 1.5 years my interest in picture taking has really peaked. I keep my DSLR with me all the time and am always looking for cool things to photograph. It's pretty rewarding to snap pictures that I can frame and hang on the wall.

My passion for the last few years has been teaching especially chemistry and biology. I find that I can really hit it home with my college freshman to juniors.
