hey guys - i couldn't really find a travel section in the forums, so am hoping this is the right place to pose the travel questions!

does anyone have any tips on bars, restaurants, etc. for puerto vallarta? i'm heading there next month and would love to get some recommendations on "must hit" places.

    gracias amigos!

I'm sure guys here will give you suggestions, but you can also do a fair bit of Googling for great info too. Did that my first trip there and got some great tips. And then once you are there you will find out stuff too.
Have fun... it's a great place!

If you like clubs, Manana (http://manana.mx/) is pretty hot! You'll love PV. We're going in a week for 10 days (seven on a resort with Atlantis Events) and three off the resort downtown.

my impression: stay and play in the old part of town (the southern end, and right on some of the best beaches - including gay/friendly beaches). The old town is picturesque, quaint, cobblestones, hillsides, good restaurants and (gay-strip) bars, some good shopping, great beaches a minute from your lodging on foot, etc.

The northern part of the town is modern, high-rise family-vacation sort of hotels for the most part, very busy traffic, but there is a nice boardwalk/marina area there.

I personally found the older part of the city more fun and pleasant for a "tropical vacation" feel in December! And it's nearer the jungles and a great seafood restaurant overlooking rocks and pools and falls where young kids dive for coins below the restaurant's patio.

There are also cable rides from hilltop to hilltop, ending out by that restaurant - about an hour's ride total over the jungle canopy below. They also made "Predator" the movie out there.

Well you must check out maƱana! The best gay club in P.V Also there is blue chairs. Been a few times. What hotel will you be staying at? I would choose a gay one!
