I know some people here spending anywhere from three to four hours a day on this site to this one guy in Palm Springs who logs on @ 5:30am and signs off at 11pm. Is this healthy behavior?

Some guys leave their computers on all day. So they might not actually be at their computer.

And some use a computer at work/school and have RJ opened in a browser, to send and receive messages/IM.

And some guys live out in the boonies. The internet is their only interaction with other gay men.

Guilty as charged. Even worse, going out and leaving IM on.

I admit I have a problem. I spend too much time on the internet, but real people don't like me and this way I feel less lonely. Then when the people on one site learn what I'm really like I can move on to another on and start fresh. It's a great way to meet other lonely people who can't cut it in the real world though.

I would be more concerned about someone who takes the time to see who much time other people are spending.

I only spend all day on RJ because I'm researching the mating rituals of gay males that have nothing to do but post on RJ all day. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Good observations. Being handicapped, I spend more time online than the average. And sometimes I forget and leave the computer running, which misrepresents when I'm actually at my computer.

When I lived in North Dakota, with a state population of only 640,000 and some counties designated by the US Census Bureau as "frontier" (less than 2 people per square mile), the Internet was the only practical way gays could interact, as you state.

I belonged to a GLBT group there called "Rainbow Ranch" and we tried to have monthly get-togethers in that vast, empty state, all coordinated online. We even had weekend campouts in the summer, with my camper (pictured in my private pics) serving as our "clubhouse." Cocktail parties in the attached screen room were especially popular. LOL!

I believe the Internet has advanced gay socializing more than anything since the highway rest stop. LMAO!

No, "too much" and/or "unhealthy behavior" would be checking to see when others log on and off. Besides, some people (me included) might just forget to logoff and even though it appears they are online they are not even anywhere near a computer.

Actually, what spurred me on to ask this question, is that I found myself spending way more time on here than I would have originally anticipated, ...not passing judgement on anybody, CuriousJock, et al...
