Gymnastics. I think most gymnasts have the "perfect" body, meaning they have the right amount of muscularity for their height/frame.

gymnasts yes, although they're often so short.. why is that.

i also think triathletes have perfect composition , where the upper body and lower body is proportionately strong but no hypertrophy present .
    Swimmers too i guess .

Same reason why most basketball players are tall. Their height is an advantage in their sport.

i was told by my PhysEd teacher in school, but maybe it was bs, that developing a lot of muscle at an early age prevented growing tall.
(I had a lousy PhysEd teacher anyway., hated him ).

i'm not clear on what the OP really means actually.
Perfect body composition is perhaps nothing but personal definition of what looks great.

Yeah perfect body composition is subjective but about gymnasts: In my experience of gymnasts I knew and in competition diving the people best at it tended to be shorter than normal, guys and girls. And in gymnastics it was the same. I didn't do gymnastics but most people I knew in diving had a history of doing gymnastics as kids and when we went to a gymnasium once to practice diving maneuvers all the gymnast people, everyone looked like their growth was stunted to some degree. But it could be like above guy said such people naturally fit that sport better so such body types are selected for it.

I think being short helps a lot in those kinds of sports because it's easier to rotate and faster when you have less length to deal with plus more strength over shorter distances.

No jockeys are short because of the repetitive bumping up and down, it condenses them smaller and smaller, like those pole pounding machines!

near the top of the list are going to be things like body building (though the present day ideals of what you should look like donĀ“t turn me on), anything gymnastics based. if you are into lean, defined then pilates (which is based on early body building and gymnastics) gives you an amazing physique, but not as big as the present day gay ideal. Anything that works upper and lower body. Dancers also have great bodies, but again, much slenderer.

Except for the disproportionately puny legs. icon_sad.gif

Not good if you are a leg man...
