    Hey,

Would it really feel like an authentic buddy this way? Participate in the forums, talk to people, etc. Friendships happen if you try.

"Mutual Buddy" lists grow, but friendships/chatships may not this way.

i don't have anyone on my buddy list,*shrugs* yet i chat with some guys via email here.
i don't feel entitled to add them till we mutually agree we've become familiar enough to consider ourselves "buddies" indeed.
Mind you it's not a term i'm very fond of , i never use it, but then i'm not english.

Gotta agree with ThePenisMyTier, here, freshsteeds. I read the comments on the forums. If I really like what a guy has to say on a certain topic, I check out his profile and then read his other comments -- At the bottom of every profile, there is a list of all of the comments that RJer has posted in the different forum topics. The guys who make posts that I really, really like are the ones who show some intelligence, a sensibility about RJ that I like, a sense of humor or a scathing wit, and a little subversiveness (or a lot in the cases of McGay and GuerillaSodomite). And those are the guys that I put on my hotlist.

I end up going to a lot profiles based off what most people have written in topic threads. If I like what I see then I usually try to chat them up first and I wait for a reply. Usually a 3 days to a week. I figure that's more then enough time since you can how frequent a person visits the site based off of their involvement in the topic threads. After that if they don't reply back I assume they don't want to chat with me because they either read my profile and didn't like it or just don't like the way I think or maybe even look. Who knows.

OK, I listed you, partly because I lived in San Antonio 4 years and know your area a bit, would like to learn what's new there. And because buddy lists aren't that big a deal in my view, a kind of online hello and handshake.
