I usually run in the mornings, so whenever I find a morning themed song that pumps me up I get excited (coincidentally De La Soul's iTunes workout is morning themed and great). I just found this remix of a song, and it has me psyched.

What songs get you going in the AM?

My mornings always call for something sublime and lively, which goes with my lazy mood, esp weekends icon_smile.gif

Soundtrack of Once qualifies for it and so does a lot of others.

Funny. The alarm on my phone is set to play this. Set it just 2 days ago:

maybe something like Stevie's "Don't you worry 'bout a thing" or "The glow of love" w Luther Vandross for a happy up beat waking up.

"Good mourning" by India Arie is good for a slow start icon_smile.gif

Don't really have one now, but last deployment, "Give it to me" by Timbalnad, JT & Nelly Furtado, got me going. Worked with a real bunch of haters. Needed something to get me riled up and ready to be just as vicious. ;)

I really like anything from the 80s or if it's Monday I'll start the day with Monday Monday by The Mamas and The Papas.

For the last couple weeks its been Royksopp 'This Must Be It' after the release of their new video. Great song and beautiful video. Listen to it every morning on my way to work.

I've also been listening to Moby's song 'Mistake' every morning, the first song I have liked by him in years.

It really depends on where I spent the previous night.

    At the bars:

Drunken Lazy Bastard - The Mahones

After a productive night at the lab ready to get back to the grind:

    Awaken - Dethklok

    At home with my man:

    Star - Hellyeah

If I'm really tired and need to get up, I turn the shower on and put on some Air. I made a playlist on my iTunes w/ all of there albums and singles, its permanently on random and repeat and works wonders for my morning attitude. ^_^

"Oh! How I Hate To Get Up In The Morning,
Oh! How I'd love to remain in bed
For the hardest blow of all is to hear the bugler call:
'You've got to get up, you've got to get up,
You've got to get up this morning!'"

Someday I'm going to murder the bugler
Someday they're going to find him dead
I'll amputate his reveille and stomp upon it heavily
And spend the rest of my life in bed!

A bugler in the army is the luckiest of men
He wakes the boys at five and then goes back to bed again
He doesn't have to blow again until the afternoon
If ev'rything goes well with me I'll be a bugler soon!

"Oh! How I Hate To Get Up In The Morning,
Oh! How I'd love to remain in bed
For the hardest blow of all is to hear the bugler call:
'You've got to get up, you've got to get up,
You've got to get up this morning!'"

Oh, boy! The minute the battle is over
Oh, boy! The minute the foe is dead
I'll put my uniform away and move to Philadelphia
And spend the rest of my life in bed!"

Just came on the car stereo as I was pulling into a parking space at the grocery store, Michael McDonald singing "You Belong to Me"... HAD to sit there until it was over...ummm...now there's a prime example of a hot, older dude... Songs change with the days, yesterday it was Dave Matthews Band's "# 41" from CRASH, driving along I-81 at 80 mph...Speed demon here....watch out!!! icon_twisted.gif
