Is there some kind of insiders club in RealJock?

I'm just wondering because the three times that I have tried to post a new forum topic, it never, ever shows up on the main page (where is says " Latest Forum Topics"). This will be my fourth attempt.

At first I thought that it was maybe only the supporters or members with other characteristics who could post new topics. But the topics I created show up if you search for them on the forum topics page. They just never show up on the main page. I wrote to RealJock tech support asking them about this, and their response was:

"Forum topics need to be reviewed before we allow them to show up on the home page. Usually it's done within a few hours although today we had some people out so it took longer."

I find this weird. When I comment on a topic started by somebody, that post does show up on the main page. Has anybody else noticed this with their topics? Am I not clicking the right button somewhere?

It's got to do with how "dangerous" you are.
It takes them FOREVER to clear my topics...because they fear me.

Wow. Now this is really weird! Obviously you guys are seeing the topic, but it's still not showing up for me. Do posters not see their own topics? Do I have one of my preferences settings off that should be on?

Does it matter if it shows on the front page? People that normally visit the forums and regularly reply, usually go straight to the forums, rather than the front page. icon_lol.gif

As for your main question.. I'm guessing you're asking about your "The Cooking with Rhonda" thread? You posted that in the morning. There have been a handful of new threads created today. So it's not going to show up the front page at all, under the "LATEST FORUM TOPICS" heading.

But you bumped the thread a few minutes ago, and now it's showing up in the "LATEST FORUM POSTS" heading.

I was going to make some kind of funny remark, but the reality is as stated by the above posters... I know the topics are reviewed, it happens every time before it shows up in the main page.

The reason is sound.. if the topic was offensive or used to rip apart another member..
But that doesn't mean anything.. as we have seen over the last 12 hours, some topics still get approved and can fall into one of the two categories mentioned above.

Actually, I posted that early Monday morning. I deleted it because it was obviously getting zero interest and I don't want to use up valuable kilobytes on RJ.

Just in case there is anyone interested, this paragon of healthy, nutritious cooking can be viewed at:

I'd disagree with this. I'm a regular here, and I rarely go to the forums list. I just look at what the most recent posts are.

    Different strokes...

I thought there was some unstated RJ formula for new topics.

x number of views + x number of replies / RJ powers that be = appearance on the main page list

This is the order that I've noticed:

    1. Posting
You start a new forum thread. It shows up in the Forums section, but not on the main page. It has to be reviewed by the moderators.

    2. Main page fame
Your thread has been reviewed by the moderators and its content has been approved (meaning it is not worthy of deletion). It appears on the main page under Latest Forum Topics. As the threads are most likely reviewed in bunches, your thread will appear with others and may be buried under the them.
Once it has been approved, it will appear on the main page under Latest Forum Posts if someone replies to it.
