Hi guys - is anybody interested in joining up with me on a long-distance gym partner program?

What I'm suggesting is that we would work out individually but share results collectively and guide and motivate each other online!

Let me know what you think!

    Cheers!icon_biggrin.gif

I'd be game, at any rate. I don't really know anyone at my gym, and I'm vastly time poor, so I tend to just dash in, do my thing and flee

My workouts are governed by my personal trainer. But if I can be included somehow, I would love to participate. I think it would be great motivation and discipline, having you all keep me on the gay and narrow. ... icon_biggrin.gif

I'd be interested too. I'm on Week 1/Day 3 of the RJ M-B program, but I've been out of the gym for several months, so I'm going to be on Week 1 for more than just seven days.

Maybe someone could set up a wiki page for tracking progress (I don't know how to do it).

    sure, i'd do it

it would keep me motivated and honest

need an online forum dedicated to tracking results

a message board with our own thread

i'm sure the folks here at realjock can come up with something. they have the photo log from the 12-week program. it shouldn't be much different

Hi guys, and thanks for your interest in the plan of long-distance gym partners!icon_biggrin.gif I like the idea of having the threds and pictures on this website, so I will send a request to the realjock people to see if they can get something up for us.

As a background, I am restricted to one personal training session a week, the rest is up to me. The PT Session is mainly to check form and technique. I envisage this long-distance thing to be, as originally mentioned, the motivational and tracking forum.

Standby for more information as I work on the mechanisms, in the meantime more interest the better and if anybody has any more suggestions Im sure we'd love to hear it!

    Cheers, Semibreve!

    Hi Caslon,
Thanks for your response. I sure would welcome any input you may have for this type of motivation and discipline.

I've had a look at the workout programs on this website, and they look slightly akward for a novice gym-goer. Given your body, do you have any suggestions for starting out with a decent workout to help start getting results?

It sounds like a great idea to share something like this, we'd just all have to be on the same page with what we are doing.... especially since we are all at different points in our fitness overall. Please keep me informed!icon_razz.gif

I'm up for this too. I'm going through the Strong & Lean Workout here for the second time (one week three now). Not sure how to coordinate this, but this community has been instrumental for me to get in better shape, so I'll ride with whatever works.

I would be interested.. I was actually on here to see about posting something looking for a workout buddy at my gym, Lifetime Fitness in Allen/McKinney.

I just cant seem to get motivated and my partner is not interested in working out with me and I am in desperate need of someone to hold me to my workouts.

Is there a place on here for people looking for workout partners in their cities?
