I think it is going to be a miniseries... not a series. The miniseries is what was great. The television show was really pretty bad if I remember correctly.

Crazy moments from the mini-series....

Diana eating the live hamster -- talk about no gag reflex

and my favorite moment...

when the lizard baby crawls out of the girl and hisssses with it's human tongue

I can't wait to see the new one too, but it will either be great or really bad CG everywhere remake

Is this the first you've heard of the new show? I watch lost and the blond FBI chick in this show was on that. Once they announced she had gotten the part on V I checked it out. Looks Awesome. Like the priest guy also. He's from Eureka on SciFi.

I watched the original series almost entirely because of the possiblity that Marc Singer was going to take his shirt off.

So what do people thing now?

My opinion...eh...it was okay... lots of lost opportunities to build suspense and interest in the ship etc.... that's what makes the first episode of the old series so epic.... guess it has been done some with Independence Day etc... but still cool and worth doing.

Surprised we saw alien skin and eye already... again not a lot of suspense

I enjoyed the premiere of V. I was surprised how much was already revealed with the aliens. I feel like it was a little rushed with the plot because there were a lot of characters to introduce. If it's a series, they certainly have the time to introduce the individual subplots with characters over a few episodes.

But overall, I enjoyed it. It's nice to see more sci-fi on a network besides Sci-fi (now called SyFy, haha, how ridiculous!).

I'll hang on for next weeks episode as well!

Yeah I thought it was pretty good, but I'm curious how long it is planned to last. I'll watch if it is a one year show, but don't want to start watching another show like Lost that will take 5 years to have a resolution to it.

With ABC being as liberal as they are I was a little surprised with the amount of references to "hope" and "devotion" as a negative thing - the thing the Vs were using to fool people.

I heard that the T-mobile networks died out when V was showing. too funny.

The pilot was fairly good, but I think I'm still leaning with the original.

I was hoping for so much, but the script was horrible. The dialogue was especially bad. I felt like I was watching Heros, which has GOT to be the worst television dialogue writing in history.

Bad writing and dialogue can kill a good story for me in a second.

Well for the 80's it was really good..Totally different scripting and story lines than other shows..But by todays standards i doubt it will last..Like Heroes..people loved it and then it sunk fast..
During the 80's you never see someone swallow a guinea pig..lol

Wow it looks frigging awesome! another time waster on my list...which is already pretty long.

Took_alive:

true what you said about heroes, it started so good and it has become just...i dont even know, even my dog covered its face when Peter and Noah started working together so cute and friendly on this current seaso.... just makes no sense whatsoever. They killed a great show.

I saw the premiere tonight and thought it was pleasant, if not great. There were some serious plot and backstory cliches.... Though I do need to say the state of CGI on TV is really impressive. Hopefully they didn't spend a lot simply because it was a pilot episode.

That said, I think "Defying Gravity" was better at building suspense... And I liked the writing better, at least from what I could tell from this single hour of V. Of course ABC pulled the plug on due to low ratings, even though they barely promoted the show...

So that's what the show is! I saw all the poster advertisements around LA and thought the Vagina Monologues was coming out with a series.

Morena Baccarin is way hotter than Jane Badler and Badler was pretty damned hot.

Just to be clear....the blonde hunk in V is Joel Gretsch. The blonde hunk in Eureka is Colin Ferguson. They have a simlar "look".

I liked it, thought the idea of them infiltrating us over the years was a neat twist. I thought they did a really bad job of making it look like NYC, though.

Did they reveal reptile skin so early in the original? I thought it was a little bit later on, when someone snuck on the ship and saw them eating live animals....or something. Not the first episode.

A friend at work was asking about the aliens, "I guess they're the bad guys, what's their deal", and I didn't want to tell him they were lizard people, thinking it would be a while until we'd see that. But apparently ABC wasn't holding that close to their chests.

I'd do either one.

I remember the original being a litter later with the "reveal" of the aliens, but I think they needed something dramatic to capture people's attention and get the show's storyline rolling. All in all, it was a pretty good episode for a pilot and Scott Wolf still is a hottie!!!

I bought the old series on dvd, because I saw a rerun of it and it made me laugh so much.
The fact that something so stupid could be produced into a series was a funny tv curiosity that I had to own.
It should be used in media studies to show students how NOT to make a tv show. It is so transparent... plot is unoriginal as well as the reference to the rise of nazi germany (and resistance groups). I mean the aliens have a symbol that even looks like a swastika. seriously, who is the 5th grader who came up with this show???
it was funny though. not on purpose, but that makes it even funnier.

not sure a remake could achieve that...

Blah! I thought it sucked and I was a total fan of the original.. I ended up falling asleep have way through.

BOO ABC!
