I am a sucker for good design. One day - when I can afford it, I hope to have only outlandish furniture and gadgets for my home, things that make you go "Woah... WTF?".

An unusual bike design, “Forkless – Cruiser” by Olli Erkkila. He built it for his graduation project at the Institute of Design in Lahti, Finland.

Post some design that caught your eye!
    Be it concept, or reality.

It and be good to think out of the box, but this radical bicycle style limits the front wheel from having adequate camber angle, and camber thrust, that conventional bicycles and motorcycles do.

You'll note the front wheel turns while remaining perpendicular to the road surface, as the rear wheel does. The lack of front wheel lean, which a fork can impart, would make this bicycle very difficult to corner at speed.

Cool bike, but you know I was a teen paperboy and that cross bar and I had a regular and violent relationship. One day, lying gasping on the side of the road (my foot missed the pedal and the cross bar met my nuts with star spangled immediacy) , I imagined I would end up sounding permanently like minnie mouse.

Oh, by the way, did I also mention that it can only make left turns? Rather limiting in the real world, I would think. icon_wink.gif

(I can't believe no one else noticed this obvious fact yet)

I have a chainless bike with internal gears. It has 7 gears, which is about the spectrum of a 21 speed. It has a Shimono Nexus Gear Hub. This is my second year with the bike and I love it, the longer I have it the smoother it shifts.

Derek Zoolander was also a uni-directional turner... Look what he accomplished! How closed-minded of you!

However, it does appear that it can make minor right turns.
