The key question in the video seems to be "Don't you like me?" In the video the answer is no, and the result is suicide. The reason the future self wants to "do" the past self in the video does seem to be divorced from emotion: a sort of masturbation. The reason the past self rejects the future self seems to be because of that lack of feeling on the part of the future self. So. If you would do yourself, would it be a sort of narcissistic masturbation, or love of a false self, or would it be an acceptance of your real self? At least, that is what I think the video asks.
