Eh, she was ok. I would've rather her be more forceful. Why is there always the "I like you, but ...".

I realize Joy is not a journalist, but c'mon: The guy's a freakin' toolbag.

The guy is a zero, IMO, and surely she will find better guests ..... or her show will tank.......sorry to say. He has nothing of any value to contribute - either intellectually or in an entertainment venue.

Joe the Plumber represents all that is wrong with America. He talks out of both sides of his mouth while blindly following hate mongers without question just like every other right-wing lemming out there.

I completely agree with the unnecessary "I like you" statements. I bet she doesn't really like him, or only likes the thought of having him.

"OH Joe, Joe, stick that big metal snake in and unclog me baby!"

I think it is good the way she handled him.

But you have to ask, other than ratings, why do these people continue to have these nuts on? Think I answered my own question.

I saw that last night, and it seemed like he knew what he wanted to say but didn't know what he wanted to say. He doesn't think or feel homosexuality is right and doesn't want his kids near gay people, but yet said he has or had a friend who is gay.

They are not true friends to their "homosexual friends". They see them as acquaintances, cordial to them, but never wanting to know anything about their personal lives.

Yes, and he followed his 'friends' statement with knowing two others who have died of AIDS. Because, everyone knows that gay=AIDS, right?

That's like me saying, "Yeah, I have several straight friends. A couple of them have died of heart attacks."

Fuck him. Why is he still semi relevant enough to even be on a television show?

What Barricade said. This interview doesn't even merit having its own discussion thread.

nobody was chastising him about his opinion. She was asking him why he held it. She should have caught him on that and stopped his diverting the discussion.

Am I going to be the only one to defend Joe? Why are we criticizing someone for an opinion they hold? As far as I can see, he can think whatever he wants. Some people simply haven't come to the point to understand homosexuality, including my parents even after I came out to them. You can't just "change" their mind overnight. It is done over generations.

"I'm allowed to have my opinion and not get chastised for it"

It's so frustrating to hear people misunderstand what free speech is. Yes, you can say pretty much whatever you want, but that DOES NOT mean you are free of criticism and consequences, see Don Imus.

    Fucking idiot.

I am so glad he served our country...too bad the target wasn't on his back or his head! What the hell does his serving our country have to do with being a mindless bigot? It certainly doesn't justify stupidity and blindly equating "pedophiles" with "homosexuals"...the man is an idiot and his 15 minutes were up last November...has he paid his "back taxes" to the State of Ohio or the IRS yet? I wish Joy had jumped a bit more forcefully on him, but she let him show himself for who he really is....I am so embarrassed to even acknowledge that he is from Ohio...He Is A DOLT! icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't understand why such an idiot is given a stage to spout opinions that have no basis in fact. As far as I know -- and I don't watch the freak show that TV has become -- we're not giving a stage to racists to spread "opinions" that, say, all black men want to rape white women.

Yes, you can walk around like a braindead zombie regurgitating stupidity, but why does it deserve airing on national TV? This is someone who was thrown into celebrity by his stupidity, literally!

It's because cable news outlets have become nothing more than a circus. They aren't interested in reporting the facts. It's about shock and entertainment. The average American eats it up. Messageboards discuss it ad nauseum giving them the spotlight, completing the cycle. They do it because they can.
