It sure didn't get much play on the nightly news. It's like we don't count anymore.

    Celebrate it tonight, boys.

Tomorrow we have more to do. ENDA, repeal of DOMA and DADT are three more fights to go.

    Celebrate tonight.

Let's be real here, this is a major victory, but these sorts of laws don't serve as deterrents. Violent people don't stop themselves and say, "Wait, if I beat this guy to a pulp because he's gay I'll be charged with a hate crime, so I'd better not do it." LGBT and others will continue to be attacked because of their differences. But, at least now those who commit these acts will be punished more appropriately.

Hey EricLA, the experiences up here with these laws is that a few good 'ol boys stepping over the line from decent to let out a little adrenaline DO think twice now.

Before it was, 'They're only fags.'

Now it's 'Uh oh, they're fags."

...so they'll have to go home and wank each other off to relieve the tension.

This is great! It's about time, too.

Maybe now they can nail it harder to the creeps that killed Ryan Skipper here in Fla.... and so many others besides Matthew Shepherd.

Definitely some substantial positive change from the Obama administration. It has my hopes up again. Repeal DOMA and make gay marriage legal across the US, make adoption legal everywhere, prohibit employer discrimination, and repeal DADT.... and then maybe we can say we finally have equality.

But I am grateful the tide is finally starting to shift in a better direction.

Indeed, this calls for a celebration!
