I popped into JB Hi Fi today to get the new Star Trek movie, and I seen a series Brother and Sisters, that I had never heard of before, and since it has Sally in it, I got the first season. I'm enjoying it. I find the relationship between the Republican, and her Democrat mother funny.
Not sure about the gay brother, but I think the pill popper is hot.
I loved the party when Mom (Sally) let it known she knows about her dead husband mistress, who was there.
Entertaining. I'll have to get the next two seasons now.

Oh...the drama keeps getting better and better. Stock up on tissue paper...one tends to get teary eyed more than they'd like. Follow it up with grey's anatomy and you're bound to be suicidal by the end of it all. (J/K)

So I would be surprised if I need tissues; but you never know.

Yeah...no aminals in this one....but i wouldn't be surprised if they add a little "Marley and Me" angle at some point...it would work. Kinda cool to have a family like that though. Watch the show and you'll find out why.

I am hooked on Brothers & Sisters. I will not miss an episode! The acting and dialogue are often superb, although their plots sometimes reach too far. This past Sunday's more lighthearted episode with the hot French guy was a real treat. That kind of family dynamic humor and goofiness those of us from big families know all too well.
And Rob Lowe...grrr. Lord have mercy.

OK series
No chemistry between the gay married couple. They are neither hot nor interesting
The family dynamic can be crazy fun at times

I love this show. Sally Field could not be better in it. She's one of the best actresses around. Calista Flockhart is perfect in the center-piece role. Ironically, the weak link in the show really is the "gay couple". They have no chemistry, and they are both negative whiners. Thankfully though, they are not stereotypically "gay" like you see so much of in movies and on TV.

Love. This. Show.
The writing is so good, and the cast is nothing short of perfection. I think this is one of the best dramas out there right now, and each season is just as good as the last. Desperate Housewives, Heroes and Weeds should take note...
Kevin and Scotty not hot? Um, are you crazy? As the Brits say, they are "well fit." I do admit I think the surrogate story line has been a bit rushed, but I love them and think they add a lot to the show.
Last week, when Nora told Kitty, "I don't want to cry," and Kitty responded, "It's ok to cry."...I just about flooded the living room. And Luke? Ooh-la-la!
Keep watching Pattison...it only gets better and better.

It really is a great show. I've liked Rob Lowe ever since his "Bad Influence" days. (If they could have brought James Spader in, and slimmed him down - and made him the gay brother's husband - I'd have liked that too.) Notice how Holly is given the best in lighting, wardrobe, hair, make up, jewelry? Wonder how that happens? She's good though. It's fun playing the bitch - - and she has a lot of real life experience to bring to the role. (Oh - I am so mean!)

And no - I don't think they are hot If you want chemistry - think of Keith and David on "Six Feet Under" and both gents were smoking hot For chemistry I would also suggest Michael and the Chirop on QAF or Michael and the Professor on QAF.

I love this show as well... I think the problem with Kevin & Scottie is that the producers are trying to strike a balance between the goal of depicting a normal gay couple, vs. making their lives as turbulent as all the other siblings'.
Greg Berlanti is one of the executive producers--an openly gay man who started off working on Dawson's Creek and Everwood, but also wrote & directed The Broken Hearts Club based on his own group of friends.
One of the reasons I loved this show from the start is that at first I thought Sally Field was playing a character based on my own mother.

Also, the writers rarely give the couple any fun upbeat time. It's always drama drama drama and negativity.

I am completely addicted to this show. Sally Field, even with two Oscars under her belt, has to be one of the most underrated actresses working today. Would love to see her do something with Meryl Streep sometime.
My only beef? The best writing seems to be reserved for the capital "A" Actresses on this show, namely Field and Callista Flockhart. Their scenes together, particularly with the Kitty Has Cancer story, are some pretty powerful stuff...
Um, her husband, Ken Olin, is one of the producers, is that right? Besides, she hasn't aged all that well and needs some assistance...
That's because she looks the way a woman of her age should. You're just not used to seeing a woman age on tv without having her face pulled so tight that she can't blink.....Mary Tyler Moore. I do believe she's had some work done in the past, but it's refreshing to see an almost woman of age on tv. Even Sally Field had work done a few years back.
I love this show, and the storyline with Kitty and cancer hits almost too close to home. A friend's wife is going through the same thing, word for word, and they too are fans of the show. Strange how Lymphoma is the hot topic on some shows these days.
I love Scotty, well Luke McFarlane, plus he's Canadian ( we're taking y'alls!) but the story line this season is rather dull. Both Scotty and Kevin bicker like 12 year old girls, and then it gets resolved by show's end. The writers need to give their story line more bite.

This is one of my recent favorite TV show. I can't believe how skinny Calista Flockhart is (who's a good actress btw), the show actually portrays gay people in a positive light. Hm, my opinions on the cute guys on the show. Dave Annable - the actor who plays Justin Walker is pretty hot. (Without his beard). Matthew Rhys - the gay lawyer sibling is cute. Luke MacFarlane - the actor who plays the husband/wife of Kevin Walker is cute, too. (Scotty). Jason Lewis - from last season - omg it's Smith from Sex and the city being gay. Rachel Griffith, Calista Flockhart and Emily VanCamp are pretty cool.

I like the show, especially any scene featuring Rob Lowe - whom I've liked since Bad Influence.
Last night's segment was good - except the part where the French guy throws a blanket over Tommy and tackles him, while the two women scream - with the house alarm system going off. This seems implausible and just a little bit jump-the-shark to me. Why would Tommy sneak into his own mother's house and trip the alarm? He grew up there - he knows there is an alarm and he should know the combination. Too heavy on the drama, IMO.......or maybe I was just suffering last night because Rob Lowe was not featured in this segment!

Ok I think I've had my fill of this. It no longer holds my interest.
And what's up with the lips of the actor who plays the French guy?
The only hotties on this:
The guy who plays Saul - (good actor) and it's about time he gets a man
And the girl who is married to Justin
But I'm done with this show now. It has begun to bore me.

I have rarely found a show that makes me laugh, cry, cringe, smile, etc. as much as this one. The cast is amazing. The story lines often go too far but they usually come around.
I look forward to cuddling up with the BF and watching it weekly. It has also made us talk about certain topics that have come up like the surrogacy thing, the marriage thing, amongst others...

Makes me a wee sad, I'm an Orphan; but thats the way it goes; no wait I take that back, I divorced them, I don't need them or their dramas in my life. Can't wait to get session three now. But my life is to soon have a Marley an Me episode, as one of me four dogs Maxx, is getting really old, and I won't travel until his moved on, because I need to be here to put him in the garden I have set aside.

Yet Calista Flockhart plays the rebel with a conservative cause as mild, tentative and tender, which is about as likely as a frisky coma patient. Of course, not all commentators on cable or talk radio are as fierce and quarrelsome as Ann Coulter. Some are like Nancy Grace. This casting choice is unfortunate. As Kitty, Ms. Flockhart is making her first serious return to television since “Ally McBeal,” but she is not convincing as a woman of conviction. testking PW0-104 And that is too bad, because “Brothers and Sisters” has wit and grace. It’s a high-minded melodrama in the tradition of “Picket Fences” and “Thirtysomething.” (Ken Olin, who played Michael Steadman on that show, is an executive producer.) While “Desperate Housewives” begins its third season on Sunday in the same tiresomely campy vein as the second, “Brothers and Sisters,” testking HP0-D04 which immediately follows, has a playful tone, but it takes its characters seriously. defines “Brothers and Sisters” as a family saga, testking 642-654 not a soap opera, and there is a difference. There is more to siblings than rivalry on these kinds of shows. The grown Walker children like one another and can make one another laugh; on soap operas, even the sophisticated nighttime versions, brothers and sisters mostly hiss, scheme and slam doors.
