I just pretend James Wolcott is gay because he writes like a dandy fop.

But I am too busy reading a dozen other news sources to pay attention to my gay news sources

motherjones.org covers some lgbt topics too, but most of their content is left-wing progressive and wide-ranging, not just lgbt.

You really need to check out www.towleroad.com.

Andy Towle used to be editor of Genre. Yes, one of the most superficial of gay mags. BUT, his blog covers many different topics from a gay male perspective and brings gay news from around the country and the world. He updates content a few times a day, M-F. I consider his site must-read.

I find queerty to be too snarky, at least when it comes to our national orgs. I think he's selective about which orgs he criticizes and why.

the gossip in the bath house.
Kidding...um, CNN I guess. I don't really search out gay news cause I don't really care who got nominated for a Tony, what celebrity is rumored to be gay now or what Britney/Paris/Celine is doing now.

Rhodielifter: you surprised me that you'd lump all gay news into a tabloid stereotype. How about learning which local, state, and national representatives are either friends or enemies through their legislation for or against gay people? Or learning that the sports hero you admired just commented on how disgusting gay people are? Or learning what international vacation spots are safe? Those are things of interest to me.

I go to http://www.advocate.com/, although they are not as quick to refresh new stories.

My favorite is probably http://www.towleroad.com/ for the gay and non-gay news of importance. It's updated fairly regularly in content, and has the perfect mix of media.

I avoid that queen Perez Hilton at all costs (this is the type of "news" I agree with Rhodielifter is crap).

for http://365gay.com/, you can get code to insert an updated scrolling news reel, which I add to a couple of my profile sites. I'll try to insert it below:

1969er I was more or less just trying to be funny, but its true I don't really seek out gay news, maybe I am a bad gay man or something. If I see an article on google news or something I will read it, but other than that, I don't really search it out.

One of my friends thinks I am a bad gay man because I don't use the HRC ratings or whatever in deciding what companies I give my money to. If I see a product I want I go buy it.

rhodie since we are at the epicenter of the gay civil rights movement, it would be nicer if you were a little more concerned with being more pro-active about yours rights and others. but hey its your life, and than again most gays dont seem to give two shits about the politics part and only care about getting laid.

Not every person, regardless of minority status is inclined to be totally informed and totally active. It's just the way it is. In economics terms, they're known as free-riders. They have always and will always exist. There are much worse things gay people can be doing like, oh, actively working against us.

As for me - all the sources that everyone has listed, I read.

How is Anderson Cooper a source for gay news? He does not talk about LGBT issue anymore than any other news anchor and he is not out as a gay man, even though we all know he is gay.

I guess I'm guilty as well of not looking for the gay news. And yes, I get news from a christian news source. I'm capable of skipping the little BS they offer, and most of what they put out is far less biased than Fox News.
