I've only heard of it. As a yoga instructor, I cannot think of one reason how being nude would add to the experience as yoga is NOT sensual nor supposed to be. Moreover, there are specific clothing lines created for hot yoga now that now absorb sweat and are not inhibitive to movement (i.e., stretchy).

    Hey man,

Yes I have... went on a whim and enjoyed it... don't worry if you "suddenly come up"... some did, some didn't... me, I could have pitched a tent! HAHA!
Gotta say, no one gets into your space if you don't want. great experience. Would like to go back... was traveling for work. Let's chat sometime, man!

Let's be honest, this is geared toward gay men so you can ogle guys in the class. Ha ha. I agree with Yogi4Life, what benefits (besides seeing guys naked) does nudity add to it? I think I'd be too self conscious to fully extend through some of those poses. Looks pretty fun though. ;)

Depends on the guys in the class. Can't think of anything less appealing than a naked guy who looks like Rosanne bent over with his ass in the air.

thats true but you also should be fit to do yoga, which probably eliminates a lot of obese people.

I've done this and quite honestly it was a room full of naked guys that ought not have been naked.

I don't find yoga arousing "at all", the positions are not appealing to watch. There is no functional purpose to being nude, sweat gets everywhere, it's hard to keep your footing and the naked people are distracting whether you realize it or not because you see body parts doing things that are just... kinda bizarre.

The problem is that most people go with the idea that all the participants doing yoga will be former Sean Cody models when in reality they are all likely candidates for Biggest Loser.

It seems like i'm hearing a little of both. some say its all obese old guys and then some say its half that and half hot guys. just wondered how many on here have done it.

Just FYI- people do not have to be "fit" to do yoga. Its not strictly a physical exercise.

Nude Yoga is pretty common in various cities. I've joined those classes and like the way I'm not restricted by clothing. A number of guys from right here on R.J. participate. It is non-sexual. You just don't feel that during the classes - you're working so hard. It is a great work out - - in an advanced class - be prepared to work up a big sweat. It is invigorating!

I did it once. I enjoyed it.

I've done regular yoga a few times, and I felt that the naked thing added some "freedom" feeling to it.

No hot guys in my class, but I didn't felt uncomfortable or anything. Everyone was really nice and helpful (not in a creepy way).

I would seriously recomend it, at least give it a shot.

For me doing yoga with another person sounds fun... in theory.
I LOVE to sweat... but don't like other people's so much, unless we're having throw down sex.

It does sound fun, and with a guy that is more like you though, that you feel comfortable with. The sweat adds too it.

Clothing offers no real benefits when doing yoga. If you're comfortable unclothed in a locker room or at a nude beach, you'll likely be comfortable doing yoga in your natural state around other people. People who are comfortable unclothed come in all shapes, sizes, and ages.

I highly doubt that anyone who's posted here that nude yoga is about ogling hot guys has ever participated in a session. If you try it and don't like it, you can pick up your mat, put on your clothes, and leave early. No one's going to care.

i took several of the hot nude yoga classes in new york city in 2002 when aaron was first starting out, and (as per usual) most of you are missing the fundamental point of the class:

to create a sense of comfort around the body in a nurturing environment.

yes, there are a few hot guys. yes, there are a few wally hogs. yes, some get erections. no, there's not a PRACTICAL purpose in being nude. yes, people fart. some hook up after. most concentrate on their practice. and mostly it's alot of friendly people looking to become less obssessed with externialities.

i'm not sure why so many of you are so invested in the hypocrisy of trying to be un/anti-sexual, but it really is very prudish. if you cannot see the benefit of this type of experience, then it isn't for you; however, to treat it with a sniffy air is not justified or helpful.

as someone who has taught yoga, and who has struggled with anorexia and dysmorphic disorder, these classes helped me break through to recovery. i recommend them to people who want to practice looking inward, but i do not recommend them to people who cannot separate the nudity from the practice.
