As an independent I must say there does seem to be a double standard with Bush and Obama. I thought this website did a good job in pointing that out

As soon as that cited article repeated the discredited & insulting Republican argument, that the disaster in New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina was the deserved fault of the residents themselves, and that President Bush & Washington were entirely blameless, I knew where the rest of it was going.

Why do some RJ members annoy us with posting right-wing propaganda? This stuff isn't intelligent on any level, and it's just meant to cause argument & dissension here. I really wish that the same tactics the Republicans are using in the US Congress did not have to appear on this web site. icon_razz.gif

Hey Red Vespa..so do you agree or disagree that there is a double standard. Seems pretty obvious to me. And I am an independent. There is no propoganda here.
And I think you read the article wrong. It said the Many (not all) of the New Orleans residents were to 'PARTLY BLAME' for Hurricane Katrina. I agree there was enough blame to go around, inclduing the Bush adminsitration

Some of the stuff listed, who gives a fuck? So Bush played golf and Obama played golf. It was during their downtime. Both went to fundraisers. Okay, great. If you have that much time to have been all up in Bush's asshole and now Obama's, you need to really get a fucking hobby or something.

Umm... cause Obama wasn't president when Katrina hit or the Afghan war started? Let's blame Obama too for the U.S. not bombing the railroad tracks during the Holocaust because that's another situation that occurred outside of his tenure in office.

So far, Obama hasn't started 2 wars, alienated every country in the world except England, advocated torture, intentionally violated the Constitution (which he twice swore to uphold),intentionally violated the Geneva Conventions, left the people of a flood devastated city to fend for themselves, nor sent the country into bankruptcy.

As far as I know, Obama has been on all the news shows.
Faux News is not a news show.
It's fear, lies, and radical right wing Republican propaganda.

Wow...I was going to launch into a whole diatribe about bush. But what is the point? Anyone with an ounce of sense already knows what a rotten leader he was. And that the same moronic repuGlicans whom elected him twice, still think he was a good leader. So there is no point.
What absolutely amazes me is that there are Gay repuGlicans in this day and age. This blows me away. I grew up as a repuGlican. Father was friends with Nixon. I was an officer in the Young repuGlicans of Bergen County when I lived in NJ. So I get it. I really do.
I left the repuGs when they really embraced religion and "morality." I'm a Atheist and I really dislike religion, religious people and their stupid beliefs.

I don't recognize this moronic party of today's repuGlicans. If it were up to them, they would love nothing more then to outlaw being Gay. (I know that sound sophomoric, but they would.) So for me to read when Gay repuGlicans post things, it sends me into a bloody tirade! You people elected the bastards eight years ago. You people put bush into office TWICE!! You people put the party of morons in control of both houses! You people did that!!

I love hearing people complain about the money Obama is spending. Where was this fiscal outrage when you people voted in someone who took a surplus and turned it into a two trillion dollar deficit, started the Bush War in Iraq for no reason (When all credible sources said there were no WMDs), fiddled while Katrina burned?!? Where were you? In the bloody voting booths pulling the lever for more repuGlicans that's where!! You Gay repuGlicans make me sick!! You dolts!!

So much for not launching into a diatribe! icon_confused.gif

NB - Go ahead...defend the arse bush, and the stupid lot of repuGlicans. I have had my say. Haters took over. Have at it!

. . . Bush was and is, of course, a halfwit, and quite literally a son of a bitch, and anyone who voted for him should be forced to pay double or triple levels of income tax . . . but, southbeach does have a point . . . there is a tendency, a tide if you will, of intolerance exhibited by some RJ interlocutors which reflects badly on the homintern . . .

Mercy! That doesn't sound altogether Christian.

    No, it doesn't- does it?

But since it will be all pleasure, I've been told that I will be forgiven

There is no comparison between Obama and Bush. Sure there is a double standard because Bush was a completely corrupt moronic ass hole. Hadn't that been acknowledged by now? This is coming from a resident of a country with a conservative government (Canada). My conservative friends all wanted Obama to win and thought Bush was an idiot. Yes now you'll just say "they were jumping on the band wagon". Well, the band wagon was there for a reason.

We have positive things to say about Obama right now (sure a few negative but mostly positive). Forget the negatives, there was literally nothing good to say about Bush after eight years in the office (yes I am exaggerating there were a few). He screwed EVERYTHING up. People just seem to forget these things... how???

Everyone has their opinions on who is/was a better President. But to say Bush "started a war in Afghanistan" is simply absurd considering he was only retaliating and defending America after they killed nearly 3,000 American lives

Liberals dont get it with wars. History proves them wrong over and over and over again. Japan (Hiro Hito), Germany (Hitler), Italy (mussolini), Iraq (Saddam) were all defeated because we went to war with them. And because we went to war, America SAVED MILLIONS of lives

and yes, the double standard with Bush and Obama is mind boggling

Everyone on here is calling Bush, every name in the book. But as an independent I can name many good things he did

-he did more for the continent of Africa than any person in the history of the world. Sent the most aid as President than any other country ever did.

-countless terrorists attacks were thwarted under his 8 years but nobody gives gim credit

-had the most minorities in his cabinet than any other US President in history at the time

-he lowered taxes..not just for the rich, but for everyone.

-he extended unemployment twice for those who need it while they looked for jobs

-the economy thrived the first 6 years he was in office (people seem to forget that) as it grew

-he liberated 2 countries (over 50 million people) and gave them a chance to vote for the first time in 30 years. Nobody talks about the sucess we are seeing in Iraq.

-he pratctically stood alone fighting terrorism around the world. and did agreat job with it. Kept Al Queda on the run for 8 years. While other countries sat back, got attacked by terrorists and did nothing (Bali, Spain, England, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Israel, Manila, etc all suffered horrendous terrorists attacks)

Other things that took place while he was in office:-
-net gain of 2.4 million jobs created
-lowest interest rates in US history
-lowest unemployment rates since the 1950's
-America's economy enjoyed the biggesst economic growth in the last 25 years
-crime rate the lowest in history
-one of the biggest tax cuts in US history
-dow jones hit an all time high (several times)
-lowest welfare rolls in the last 30 years
-won the Iraq War (with the lowest # of US military lives lost in history)
-American workers at all-time high of 138.5 million

I'm scratching my head here, because I simply don't understand how some of you guys reason

So if bush did all of these positive things by bankrupting the country and turning a trillion dollar surplus into 2 trillion dollar deficit....

Doesn't this show there is something wrong with your reasoning?

    . . . Hitler was a man of the Left, a real mega-state afficionado . . this is beyond dispute . . .

. . . any real conservative opposes such things, such tactics, and such horrific people. . .
