Do you believe Congress should carve out an exemption for themselves with regards to any new health care regulations?

AH HA !!!! I think I may have found something on which you and I might agree. Congress shouldn't have any better basic health care coverage than any other citizen, they represent those citizens, so what they have should be what they would want for the citizens who vote for them. That's the way it is in other industrialized nations, why isn't it good enough for our congressmen.

Are you Kidding? The fact that our enlightened liberal leaders keep telling us how good this is for us , all the while, being sure to keep from saddling themselves with the Frankenstein monster that they are creating, in the guise of health care reform, should be speaking volumes to everyone! If it's so damn good, why isn't it good enough for our liberal politicians ? I thought the purpose for all of this was to get health care for the uninsured. yet, when it's all said and done there will still be 25 million still uninsured and at a cost of a trillion dollars, kinda makes one wonder if this was ever about those poor uninsured people. How can you be serious about health care reform and not even address tort reform at all? They couldn't have exempted themselves because it isn't as great as they keep promising us, could they ? They wouldn't !

It will never happen. Nothing must interfere with Nancy Pelosi's access to plastic surgery and botox treatments.

I'd be happy to take it one step further and deny all elected politicians healthcare at all. The minute they get sick, boot em out and give a healthy person a shot.

It is my understanding that the access to health care under any public insurance option will be virtually identical to that of any government employee in America, which includes Congress. Just because something is repeated ad in finitum doesn't make it true...

This is a subject I know a little about. There are virtually no health care plans available in America that cover plastic surgery of any type other than trauma reconstruction. If the Speaker is indulging in such vanities, she is paying for them out of her own pocket, just like any Hollywood starlet...

It's not identical. And Congress would be excluded (section 3116).

(LOL) You've stumbled upon the exact reason DADT was doomed to failure.

Congress always legislates you & I; and never fails, to exempt themselves.

...If one thinks socialized medicine is the way to go, just ask any
disabled Vet. how socialized-medicine is working out for them . . .

(Get w/ the program, people, it-is-NOT about healthcare; it's about
social-communism and the total loss of constitutional-protections against oppressive / invasive governments. In other words: Your so-called freedoms, granted us by very-adept & wise Founding Fathers, are vanishing
!)

I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist ! In the real world, if the people making the laws that bind the rest of us exempt themselves from them , they must have a reason for it ! By the way, I don't have a negative outlook which colours how I see life, the definition of a pessimist. I've just seen enough horseshit in the pasture to recognize horseshit for what it is.

Congress is given health care insurance through United Health Care and from my experience with UHC... Im for it! And if we can't have it then fuck them... lets pass a law that says they have to have the same insurance we have. In fact I say amend the constitution for this. They'll think twice before they screw with health care and give us some piece of shit insurance.

Sure. Right after we amend the Constitution to outlaw jaywalking.
