MacBook Pro Skins

Hey guys,

I just bought a MacBook Pro 13.3" and now I want to personalize it with a skin on the top and a matching skin on the wrist pad. I've been going through many sites and found www.istyles.com to have a great selection that I'm interested in. But unfortunately they don't come with a hole for the apple sign to shine through.

Does the light shine through the skin? And if not is there a way to somehow cut out the sign from the skin? Or do you know of any better sites to order good skins?

Thanks guys.

Skins are made for substandard, ugly PC laptops like Dells. It is a mortal sacrilege to uglify the beautiful, sleek casing of any Mac notebook. Perish the thought!

If it weren't for this website (http://www.gelaskins.com/) I would totally agree with this statement.

I disagree with you zdrew... having a Mac which looks exactly the same like everyone else's seems rather boring. With a skin my Mac would stand out of the crowd (of laptops). I'd be giving it a touch of my own personality, not to mention protect it from scratches.

The Speck products seem nice, but still seem rather dull while the BodyGuardz are just transparent, and the Gelaskins are quite nice, but don't have a hole for the Apple logo.

I checked out the Tego site (www.mytego.com) which does the same as iStyles but has a cut out of the Apple logo and you can use your own design. The downside is that it's way more expensive (about 50-75% extra) than iStyles.

So I'm still open to other ideas.

Oh and, HI CHRIS! HAHA! Yeah long time no see. Hope the beagles are doing ok too. X)

Nah, I think it would be a little too dull without some colour.

I'm not big on a full skin, but I love this decal:

There's a cool Space Invaders one, too:

I have a translucent blue cover for my MBPro, you can still see the styling and all, but it has a cool blue glow to it. Very basic but it makes me feel better about toting it around in the off chance my butter fingers kick in.

People are so funny.
I look at the screen, not the case it's in.

Haha... true, true. But others around me would be seeing the back. Plus I'd keep it scratch free.

Darn I really love this skin, but there isn't a cut out for the Apple logo:

I would get it, but the logo would be blocked. I don't even know if the light can be seen through the skin.

Maybe I could find somewhere where they can cut out the apple sign for me?

Lol! Apparently Decalgirl (http://www.decalgirl.com/) has the exact same skins as iStyles (www.istyles.com). Who copied who? Hehe
