You rock, Annise! Can't wait to see you trounce Locke in December. icon_biggrin.gif

Annise received the most votes, overall, but not enough to forestall a runoff. To my fellow Houstonians, don't sit this one out!

I guess the media has everyone bummed out over the defeat of Maine's marriage equality ballot measure. How cool is it, though, that one of the reddest states in the country is on the verge of electing an openly gay mayor?

Wow this is amazing news, and I can say I knew her when (back in my college days when she was a mere lesbian community activist). If her sexuality has not come up before now, you can be damned sure it will in the runoff...

The great thing is that while she never hides her orientation, it is a non issue in the race - which is how it should be.

Hell yeah, I am super proud for this lesbo and proud to be a Houstonian!
