Hi guys,

Hope you can help. A friend from Chicago is coming to London in mid-November and I'm flying over to meet her. She's a singer and hoped to hit a gay bar or two that has an open mike like we used to do in Chicago many moons ago.

Does London offer such a thing? Any recommendations?

FYI "open mike" is like karaoke but with a live pianist or band for accompaniment, in case anyone isn't familiar with this term.

I think you'll have a problem finding an open mike singing venue in London.

There's a few that do Karaoke though, so if you give me an idea of days when needed, I'll try find some.

Where abouts in London is your friend staying?

We'll be there on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, 15-17 November, staying with a friend in Walthamstow near Tottenham Hale. Hope that helps!
