I just bought it on DVD on sale cause I always liked the movie and when it aired on TV last year I thought that the movie still holds up well today. When I asked the twenty-something guy at Blockbuster if he ever saw it he said "No, but I heard it was good."

If that doesn't make you feel old, this will. In 27 years from now, how old will you be? I'll be 73 if I make it.

    Ugh.

So the poltergeist let you out of the closet and took Carol Anne in your place?

Edit: I just saw that you're only 27... so I guess that can't be the case. Is your mother the poltergeist?

(please note, this is all intended in good fun. I'm not trying to say anything about your mom)

I remember watching Poltergeist on the big screen when released.
Wow! Was it as far back as 1982?
My age in 27 years from now?
    I'll be 84 years old.

She's the current president of the Screen Actor's Guild.icon_cool.gif
    Don't ask me why I know this....I'm "Cliff Claven", I guess. LOLicon_lol.gif
She also appeared in "Sybil" in oh....2007? And I heard she recently was on that insipid "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off "Private Practice" although I don't watch it.

BTW: Heather O"Rourke who played "Carol Anne" died about 1988, I believe.

    Yikes-I'll be 74 years old BUT I won't look a day over 64!

Love this movie, saw it so many times in the 80's that I could almost quote it line for line. Zelda Rubenstein was the bomb as the little 'house cleaner'!

"cross over children, all are welcome. all welcome. go into the light!'

'now clear your mind, it knows what scares you. Don't give it any help, it knows too much already"

Know all these lines too, saw it in the theater at the age of 13 with my mom and was scared shitless and then it was on cable constantly.

So many great lines by Tangina.

The older daughter was played by Dominque Dunne daughter of famed author Dominic Dunne. She was brutally murdered shortly after the movie came out. Heather O Rourke died too and I think the guy who played Cain in Poltergeist 2 died shortly after that movie was released. The Curse of Poltergeist they say.
