After three years with my beau, I'm single and back on the market. Now i'm finding myself not sure where to start with this single life. I'm trying to move on, but its not that easy or cut and dry as I would think it is. I miss the places we used to go to, eat at... yada yada.... I just wanna move on.... so searching for places, ideas or thoughts on where and how to do this...icon_eek.gif

Well, first thing you gotta do is get one of those bar codes....no one has price stickers anymore.....then you......(off to the side: What? He means what? Oh.)

Never mind. Carry on. Nothing to see here.

Start cleaning out your closets and get rid of clothes and other things you don't need. That's a good activity to symbolize what you need to do in your mind too, plus you will have more room for other things in your mind......and your closets.

Go to your phone......find his number, and hit DELETE. When it asks you if you are sure you want to delete, hit YES.

After you beat up on yourself thinking of all the possible things you might have done wrong, and after you write him the "You worthless piece of shit" letter (but don't mail it), then go to the nearest, gayest restaurant and treat yourself to a good meal, While you are there, flirt with the waiter, the bartender and other patrons.

Then realize that you "still got it going on: and that there are other fish in the sea.

You can also try getting drunk.....the most traditional effective method for men to soothe pain. A bar is the place for men to cry like babies and get it out of their sytems. Just make sure you go with a good friend who will let you blabber on and on about your broken heart and so he can make a few jokes about how pathetic you sound...........and then laugh your ass off with him.

If you see yourself as 'alone' and see that as a negative then you're never gonna get far. You need to see yourself as just single, and you need to try and be happy with that. Don't rush to be with someone new. That's the worst thing to do.

There's nothing wrong with going places by yourself. Why can't you go to the old places you used to go with him? If you want to go out and eat at a restaurant, call a friend and go. You're now in a great position to strengthen your friendships which can sometimes get neglected when you're in a relationship.

Basically, it's all in your mindset.

Good advice! Yeah, it does open up a hole socially, so use that extra time to spend time with friends and make new ones. Also get reacquainted with relatives you haven't seen in awhile.
