I have been a victim of channel surfing and then all of a sudden I’m hooked to a channel that I cant seem to change no matter how boring the information is. The Discovery channel, Travel Channel and the History channel are the ones that seem to catch my attention the most. So I was wondering do these channels have the same affect to other guys, or is just that im a nerdy dork?

Or what are some of those addictive channels that wont let you get away?

    The Food Network.

I know I'll never cook any of those things, but Paula Deen is the grandmother I wish I had. Rachael Ray is like my sister; Ingrid Hoffman is the Latina hottie down the block. Giada di Laurentiis is the chick I'd go straight for. Bobby Flay is everyone's best pal; Alton Brown is the nerdy smart aleck kid in the back of the class who always made you laugh; Sandra Lee is a living Disney cartoon. Just watch her once and see if you don't think animated bluebirds should be holding up the puffy sleeves on her dress.

For some reason, I only watch those channels when I have the flu and am stuck on the couch all day. (BTW, they seem to only have 6 hours of programming, then it repeats.) What bugs me is when they have about five minutes of content, and somehow drag it out for 30 or 60 minutes of air time.
I usually see somebody who I know on Discovery or Science channels in a day's programming. If you watch all year, you might see me once or twice.

BTW: A key to understanding these programs is that if the director finds you or your lab to be boring, they will photograph you a)driving your car or b)climbing on rocks. Notice how many people are shown driving or climbing each day...

Where are all the reality fans at??? Haha... definitely get stuck on VH1 or E! or Comedy Central or MTV - all day marathons of your favorite crappy reality shows = great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday on the couch. YOU KNOW YOU LOVE NEW YORK!

Also, when I have a nerdy or sporty vibe, I can get sucked into Discovery Channel or ESPN Classic respectively. OH and G4 (NINJA WARRIOR) is also good stuff...

Cartoon Network! icon_biggrin.gif There's no other reason to have cable! Except for Spike TV!

I can't get away from them and, more to the point, don't WANT to icon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

I can't get enough foodnetwork or hgtv... not that I'm a queen; but the for the fact that I feel the most relaxed watching those shows because they're not antagonistic, over dramatized or saddening. I also love to watch:

    -discovery channel
    -history channel
    -the learning channel
    -court tv
    -sci fi
    -animal planet
    -travel channel
    -comedy central
-- the soup, and family guy...

not all in one day, but throughout the week.

Damned cartoon network sucks me in every time. I'd like to say it was just adult swim, but I end up tivoing "the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy" I wish I was more like Mandy, but I'm sadly more like Billy.....icon_lol.gif

I don't own a TV for fear of not getting anything done. icon_biggrin.gif

Doesn't usually matter what's on, I'm hooked. Usually documentaries, sports, science, and food are so bad, I'll tune people around me out.

I watch Project Runway with a group of friends and that's not too bad because I usually knit and talk through it.

I actually always have liked the Discovery and History Channels, depending on what they are talking about. The Food Channel and HGTV as well. They are very interesting, fun and easy to get caught up in. The channels I do find boring on that level though is the JewelryTV programs or QVC, hahaha! There is 0 reason I would need to watch those shows and at times find myself watching it for hours on end.
I swear I have watched that BareMinerals infomercial a few times as well. Mmmaybe its calming to me or something or I'm captivated by seeing people ecstatic about their product. Hahahaha, no idea!icon_redface.gif

Bravo - Top Chef / Top Chef Masters

    History - Pawn Stars

Travel Channel - anything with Anthony Bourdain

BBC America - Kitchen Nightmares ( British version), The F word, Doctor Who, Being Human.. Damn the Brits make some great shows

Cartoon Network - Adult Swim ( most of the line up LOL )

I'm so happy for the On -demand feature on Comcast because I have no idea when most of these shows are on so when I have time to watch TV I can scroll through the menu and see what I want when I want. icon_biggrin.gif

Lately I've been watching "Current" alot. But I'm big on Comedy Central for my "Daily Show" fix and I try to watch Logo to support our community---if there's something on I've not seen prior.

    Peace,
    Me

I'm a Bravo whore, although less so since Project Runway moved to Lifetime. Loves me some Real Housewives! And Andy Cohen is pretty cute!
