Energy efficiency? The OP lives in New Orleans where nothing is efficient, energy least of all.

LOL.... mine has done the same thing. Fortunately we wear the same size in many things so he just borrows some of my things, well the things that don't look too 'old'.

LOL, that's exactly what I was thinking.. So you need to pull a Mr. Big and hand him a bag with all his stuff in it and say " You've forgotton these things at my place and I'm sure you need them at home"

Do you spend any time at his house (or apartment?) Maybe you should have a few things of yours over there.

IMO if you have someone spend time at your place on a fairly regular basis, it would seem reasonable for him to have some extra personal items (toothbrush, paste, floss, shampoo, razor, hairbrush, socks, underwear, some slacks, shirts, shoes, belts, a jacket or two.) This way, he wouldn't have to keep bringing these things back and forth.

One the other hand, if you actually mind him keeping a few things at your place, and don't plan on having him spend any more nights there, then just put them in a good bag and let him have them - - - or drop them off with your "Dear John" letter.
